September Chaos
This September has inspired me to protect my piece. Our overloaded calendar, constant plans and the regular chaos that overtakes September nearly killed me last week. So this week, I have been mindful to take the 5 minutes when I have it and just breath. Its been helpful and moving forward Im gonna protect our home and our peace, find all the autumn candles, light them and soak in the quiet when we get it. This life is such a treasure!
Ok, back to regular programming of the real chaos! Over the summer Penny did this cute little bedroom craft and right before she tossed it into the blue bin I stole it to snap some pictures of it because how cute is she!! I love these little moments of imagination they get. Im obsessed.
Brian and I voted, although I will admit we didn't think about it until 2 seconds before we took a walk to the closest school. Glad we could do it, even if it felt rushed.
Community basketball evaluations just finished and Bentley and Penny crushed it! Bother made team 1 in their divisions and are thrilled to be with friends! It's gonna be a great season.
I finally got around to making our 2027 calendars.. I will never leave this until September ever again lol That was a rough lesson to learn on the amount of time I didn't have for a project I refuse to let go of. I love these old school "old lady" calendars of mine. I love making them, pulling the new one out each month and filling them up so much that I wish the squares were bigger. I know the whole world is filled with digital calendars but the colour, the themes and crafting stickers will have my heart forever.
We have been elbow deep in ALL THE THINGS! Carter just finished the in class portion of Drivers Ed, I cannot believe he's nearly old enough and ready to get his drivers license!! Like, how is this happening so fast!!
Club basketball has also started for Carter and their first tournament is this weekend! Bentley is playing Sr. Volleyball at school, club basketball, community basketball and flag football.
We are new to the flag football world. It has been SO MUCH FUN! Bentley has LOVED it! Its a short season. Basically, it is all of September and into the first of October and then its done. Bentley plays with lots of buddies, its been such a great experience!
We have learnt that we can't say no to sports.. its a toxic trait we have I guess lol. Although Penny tried her very best for the Jr Volleyball tryouts, she didn't make the team this year. That threw us for a wild emotional loop that we have since come out the other end and are cheering on her besties! These life lessons are HARD to learn but learning how to hold space for sadness and joy for someone else has been a beautiful lesson to have. Penny is amazing and I have no doubt she will try again next year! She is keeping busy with community basketball and flag football and loving every second of it! To be honest, I wasn't sure that she would love flag football as much as she does but this girl is obsessed with it!!
And when she's not on the field, she's with friends cheering on her other friends or her brother's team. Like, who knew this would be so wildly successful! So much happiness has come from this little flag football season!
September has been what it always is... WILD and CHOTIC and CRAZY. Basically taken our breath away but in a "I might die I can't breath" way and less in a "wow so beautiful its taking my breath away" kind of way. We are showing up, raising up and protecting any amount of peace we have left. We got it.
Onward!
