Class starts now
It felt like a personal attack to make kids go back to school on August 31st. Like it was stealing a day of summer I didn't want to give up but it happened and we did it. It was back to school for everyone on Monday. Back to routines we forgot we had. Back to lunches and reasonable bed time hours. Back to tryouts and homework. Full steam ahead.
This year feels a little weird. This is our first year ever that we don't have any elementary aged kids. Penny is off to Jr. High, Grade 7 and is so so ready. She is two days in and already loving it. She loves the independence and her options. She loves changing classrooms for her core subjects and feels so grown up. She makes me excited for her. She is amazing and going to rock grade 7!
This is the last year Bentley and Penny will be at their current school together. My heart is not going to handle this well. I love them being together and the comfort it is to still have a big brother there when you need him but Bentley is in Grade 9 and the oldest in the school! His last year of Jr. High. I cannot believe he is off to high school in a year. He is amazing in a million ways! He is going to do great this year, be a great example to the rest of the school and soak in all the moments this school has to offer for his very last year in it! We are excited for him!
Carter is Grade 11 this year. We're already talking about university and the next phase of life and Im trying to be chill Im excited for him and the next phase of his amazing life he will build. He 's building his priorities and its pretty cool to get to witness this amazing man he's choosing to be. So proud of you Carter, I know you're going to do great things this year!
I didn't force him to do back to school pictures this year but did snap one of him and his besties, Nix & Bin.
I can see a light at the end of the tunnel that I don't really want to see yet. Im gonna miss this! Cheers to another school year, another handful of some frustrating, lots of busy and a ton of spectacular days!
