My favourite summer day.

July 11. I took the day off from photos. We blocked any social events on the calendar and deemed it a family day. It was perfect and hot and more than we even hoped it would be when we initially had no plans.

We had a slow morning,  it was needed. Brian did some research, as he always does, and found this perfect little hidden spot.. Archie Hogg. We got floaties, packed a picnic and brought Kobe too. We spent 6 hours here. Just living that perfect river life. Floating down the river, trying to fish, relaxing in the shade, no cell service, just us. It was dreamy and I don't know if our kids will ever understand the happiness that came out of just being with them this day.

It was a blast!

And truly, it just kept getting better and better. Our summer bucket list often forces us to do simple things that we usually take for granted and forget to slow down enough to apprecite the tiny blessings of everyday life. This particular night we checked off "find a beautiful sunset". It was the perfect evening. We got Peter's Drive in for dinner and milkshakes, sat in the bed of the truck (even while being absolutely eaten alive but thankful for our blankets wrapped around us that saved us!), listened to country music and enjoyed every second of the sunset for the day. This moment will be my favourite of the summer, I bet!

All these big kid jumping hugs were core memories! Truly, my favourite summer day!
