Spring Break 2.0
Last week Bentley and Penny were on Spring break and Carter headed back to school after his spring break. Because they had different breaks this year we didn't have any big plans but managed to do something fun every day and even made one day a complete pajama, rest, tv watching day. I promised them a date day too so first thing Monday morning the three of us went bowling! I haven't been bowling in years. It was so fun to go with them!
We had the entire place to ourselves and it was awesome! We laughed so much and judged each others bowling skills.. turns out, none of us have a wild bowling talent haha. We went out for a g;luten filled lunch since our favourite celiac boys weren't with us. It was a great day.
Bentley and Penny were great friends this week off together. After getting Carter out the door at 7:20am I went back to bed one morning and when I woke up at 9 I heard the sweetest, quietest giggles from the bonus room. I went out and both of them were so excited to tell me that Bentley went into storage and found everything he needed to get our our Disney infinity game working. They were having a blast from the past together and it was so fun to see.
Bentley and I are still going strong with his lego vending machine and somehow 16 days goes lightening speed and I need to find time to refill them with new creative mini figures, haha.. not sure how many more combinations I can think of!
We unfortunately had a full snow storm during spring break too but Bentley made the most of it with a whole pipeline situation for his finger snowboard that once belonged to Brian when he was a kid. How fun is that!
We made time to go to the church gym with friends three times during the week, painted bird houses for the backyard, painted fancy nails for Penny, went to covet for a drink and treat and even celebrated Brin's 17th birthday with friends!
Spring break was filled with so many adventures! I am so grateful I got to spend some quality time with Bentley and Penny last week. They are so fun and I am the luckiest to be their mama! Understanding how fast the years of their youth really are, I cherish every single moment we have! It has been such a fun week. No one was happy to go back to school BUT we are all pretty excited to being on the home stretch of the school year. The count down is on for summer break!!
