Farewell
2025 was a good year, a great year. We had so many adventures, our calendars were beyond filled and the kids sports teams were so fun. We went to Utah and Hawaii. We tried zip lining and go-karting. Carter went to Faces camp for a week and got his learners license. We did puzzles and played games and soaked in the sun. We made a point to find the beauty in the rain and in the snow or cloudy days. It really was a good year.
2025 felt more settled than 2024 did, and that was nice. Typically, I am so excited to start a new year, and I still am, but it seems more gentle this time. It doesn't feel as needed and maybe just a simple "hello 2026, come in, have a seat" is more the vibe of this January. No big plans, no crazy resolutions, just a welcoming gesture to a new year that I know will be filled with more fun adventures.
We rang in the new year with friends. Our biggest guys wen to a party after hanging out at the gym for an hour or so. This was the first year I didn't ring it with all our kids together. Oh boy, its happening. I never mentioned it, and didn't make it a big deal but it definitely felt different and weird.
We booked the church gym and played basketball for hours, chatted, had a whole buffet of amazing appetizers and it was chill, the best. We played one giant game of Bump the moment the clock stuck midnight. Every adult, every kid.
We got home around 1am. It really was such a fun night. My biggest treasure is these 4 people! They even put up with my desperation to take a pic with them at 1am!
So, a giant "Cheers" to 2025 and a warm welcome to 2026. Happy New Year!
