Decembery

I am feeling all Decembery. I am holding a space for Chaos, schedules, timelines and every special themed day at school. The ending of the shopping and the desperate need to wrap it all up. But also clinging to find the little sparks of joy and the real reason we celebrate Christmas. All of these things are existing in the same realm amongst each other and I am thankful for it.

We filled our buckets with the sweetest little Christmas craft last weekend. Nothing fancy but I was longing for something personal and relaxing and this was perfect. Simple cardboard cut out houses that we each painted now sit on our mirror and I love them so much.

We did our letters to Santa and sent them with Clyde. I love how even my teen still writes a letter to Santa.. and colours it! These small moments are so fun to witness and Im glad I still get to.

Last week was Penny's first ever Christmas band concert. They are required to take band in grade 6 and 7 at their school and although she is not a fan of band, Im grateful that its a requirement. I love seeing them try new things. Penny did GREAT and looked so pretty up there! Well done, Penny girl!

And the best part.. is friends.. all her favourite people. Well, missing a few!

Penny, we are so proud of you!! You have crushed your first band concert! Way to go, girl!

We have 5 more days of school! 6 basketball practices, 2 basketball games, 2 secret santa days, ugly sweater day, a field trip, 3 final unit tests and a dentist appointment. By 3:30pm on Friday we will done and we are all looking forward to some pajama days, christmas movies and slower mornings.

Tis' the very best season!
