Happy Halloween!

Another Halloween in the books! This year's halloween looked a little different and a little less friends came but it was just as great!

This year's costumes were fun! With the Dodgers and Blue Jays playing in the world series, we did a mix of teams. Bentley was a Othani from the Dodgers, Carter went as a Blue Jays player and Penny went as the WMBA player, Caitlin Clark, complete with halloween nails! 

School is always fun on Halloween because they do a Costume parade! I love going to watch and cheer on all the kids from K-9 in their costumes. It did feel really weird this year with Carter in high school. He didn't wear a costume to school and only started halloween activities in the evening. 

We headed to Cranston Riverstone, like usual, and met with friends to begin our trick-or-treating! Brian had rigged up a TV and big battery pack and we watched the blue jays game all along the trick or treating. 

They each got so much Candy! I LOVE that Carter chose to still come trick-or-treating with our family and friends this year and then meet up with friends after. I will let them hold onto their childhood for as long as they want! 

Carter went to a friend's house in priddis for the rest of the night, Bentley came home with his buddy to finish the jays game and then him and Penny sorted all through their candy. It was so nice that Halloween was on a Friday night and we didn't have to get up for school the next day! 

This phase of parenting feels fleeting. I can feel our little kids growing into big kids and at any moment we could have kids at halloween parties instead of trick-or-treating and Brian and I will be at home handing out candy in awe of everyone else's cute kids in little costumes. So for this time and in this moment we are going to cherish every single halloween until it ends and we're forced to find the beauty in the next phase.
