Happy 15th

 My guy! You were my first born, my first round of sleepless nights, the first giggle, my first time being a mom. You and me. Carter, you are a remarkable guy. You are hardworking and kind. The fact that you don't ever feel pressure to follow the crowd is one of my favourite qualities about you. You give the best hugs when least expected. You care about all the poeple in your life and listening to your "BRO" banter with your friends is my favourite. I love our carpools and van chats and funny low-key inappropriate jokes we constantly share. WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR YOU!!!!! 

In true Carter fashion he chose a basketball theme for his birthday. I love how passionate he is about this game. So, we made it happen. 

Breakfast was homemade pancakes and whip cream. He had a full day of school and then basketball practice until 5:30 and then came home to his dinner wish list! Steak, mash potatoes and poutine! This meal plan was screaming 15 year old teenager lol I love it! 

We had one of the BEST cakes around, Sex in a pan, and him and I will fight over left overs for the next few days for sure! 

Carter is one of the most chill teenagers. If he feels like hanging out with friends, he will. If they're all hanging out and he feels like chilling at home and keeping it low-key, he will. He is never influenced by missing out and is confident in himself and his friendships. Its one of the best qualities to have  and I love that he has it! So last night, he skipped the football banquet and came home for a family dinner, warm pajamas, a visit from one of his best friends, Nix, and watched the start of the new season, Stranger Things, that just came out and he was so happy and content. 

We did cards, where our only goal was to make him laugh. Bentley and Penny got him PERFECTLY!

All he wanted for his birthday this year was money. Easy peasy! 

He even got visits from Grandparents a couple of days ago. 

Carter, today we got to watch you play your first ever high school basketball game. You got your first bucket in High School basketball and then another and another and an and-one. There is nothing more that we love doing then getting a front row seat to your life. Whether it's basketball or school or friends, getting to watch you grow up has been such a blessing and the biggest privilege to sit court side the whole way so far. 

Can't wait to see what your 15th year around the sun is like. You are amazing, happy birthday buddy, we love you endlessly!
