Thankful

 This Thanksgiving came and went as fast as a regular Sunday dinner. We didn't host anything this thanksgiving. Our home has been chaotic and heavy and so so busy with a ton of uncertainty so both our parents hosted Thanksgiving dinner this year. Both dinners were so yummy and served with all the love only a mom/grandma has. We are thankful for our parents and their love and desire to have family together. 

It sounds so cliche but when i reflected on what I was most thankful for this Thanksgiving, it was my family. It was Brian, Carter, Bentley and Penny. They are my reason to work hard, try and try again and never give up no matter what is thrown our way. 

When the kids were each asked "What are you most thankful for this Thanksgiving?" Penny said with confidence "My family and food!" Bentley responded coy and silly and said "my family, sports and the world" and Carter said, in the most calm, quiet and sincere voice "Im thankful for basketball and the ability to play". I had to take a deep breath and suck in all my tears wishing that he was in a phase of life that wasn't just a recent diagnosis of arthritis and the significant pain that comes with it but man, am I ever grateful for his "glass half full" demeanour. He really is the best. 

I am beyond thankful for each of them. For Penny because she is forever my girl. My starbucks date, my reel laughing, booty shaking girl gang girl! For Bentley because his cuddles and affection and pure Mama's boy personality will have my heart forever. He is my constant helper and always there when I need him! For Carter and they way he hugs me when I least expect it, still showers me with "I love you mom" multiple times a day and shares his inappropriate jokes with me that will forever make me laugh. 

And Brian. I truly couldnt live without him. I am so grateful to have been blessed with such an incredible man. He is my best friend and my secret keeper. We share so many inside jokes and he can read my facial expressions a mile away. He puts me first, always and protects my heart just the way I need. Our family is sacred to the both of us and raising kids with him has been my greatest joy. Brian, I love you forever and am so thankful for you! 

This thanksgiving, through the thickness of current life, we have so much to be thankful for. We just gotta notice them :)
