Eighteen Years

This weekend, Brian and I celebrated our 18 year wedding anniversary! The way timing worked out this year for our anniversary, the kids were overnight camping with my parents! They had a blast and Penny took a load of photos (my girrrlll!!!!)

Thank you Mom & Dad for being on full Grandma/Grandpa mode this weekend with our kids (and their cousins!!). They love this tradition with you and we are so grateful to have a minute together. We never have to worry and just get to enjoy our time together. We love you so so much. Thank you for putting in all the time and effort to make this happen for the kids, you're the best!

While they were away Brian and I got all caught up on cleaning, groceries and my photos (romantic right lol) but it gave me the peace I really have been needing to not feel like I have a bunch of looming things hanging over my shoulders.

But Saturday... Saturday was just us and it was glorious! We slept in super late, were super slow to get ready for the day and on a completely spontaneous whim, we grabbed two electric scooters and drove out to Lake Louise!

It was perfect, it was just us and everything we could have asked for. We parked at the bottom of the Moraine Lake road, grabbed the scooters and road them up 15km road to Lake Moraine. You can no longer drive up this road and you have to get tickets for a shuttle but this was WAY better. It truly was perfect. It was cold and rainy but the views were stunning and the smells of the mountain up our 20 minute scooter ride was unreal. Such a cool experience!

The water was clear and so so teal. Just stunning! I love how this piece of paradise is so close to us.

And on the way back down the rain slowed down, the sun was patchy but warm and a beautiful rainbow was spotted! It was literally perfect in every way!

We had dinner in canmore at Rocky Mountain Flatbread and headed home for a relaxing evening.

The kids were home Sunday around lunch. They had so much fun and shared all their memories and photos. Brian and I had planned a Reed family dinner to celebrate Mom Reed's birthday at the lake on Sunday evening. We really should have cousins at the lake more often because it was so fun. It was extra fun to celebrate Grandma!

Happy Birthday Mom, we love you so so much!!

It was a great evening spent together as a family and even though it was on our actual anniversary we felt so lucky to have spent the weekend alone together that this big family birthday celebration really just felt like the cherry on top!

Brian, 18 years later you still make me feel special and pretty and adored. You find my biggest insecurities and fix them. You cheer me on in Motherhood, my favourite place to be. You hold me close when I’m breaking and always laugh at my inappropriate but perfectly timed jokes. I’m so grateful we found each other in high school and didn’t waste anytime becoming one because 100 years with you wouldn’t be long enough. Happy anniversary Bri-Guy. Love you babe.
