Holy Summer!

 This summer has felt like so much fun! The days have been long and bedtimes have gone out the window. The house feels constantly trashed, laundry always seems to be overflowing, the constant revolving amount of dishes in the sink that struggle to make their way into the dishwasher is a constant reminder that although we have all the time in the world during the summer, we also have no time at all because we are too busy having fun. 

We got the kids electric scooters this summer and it has been such a blessing! They have been scootering around with friends, meeting up with friends, hanging out with each other and feeling all the independences that electric scooters naturally offer!

 Our Summer bucket list is still loved piece of summer and I love that so much. I love that they still love it so much. Right at the beginning of summer, we did our "finish a family puzzle". I was surprised how much everyone loved working on this. I just randomly placed it on our kitchen table. To be honest, I kinda thought it would be untouched for a month until I finally finished it myself but was I ever wrong. Every single person sat down, sometimes together and sometimes alone, and worked on it in peace. Almost like a refuge of the summer chaos. It was actually really magical to see. 

I didn't get a finished picture of it because when I tried to shift it over, I accidentally broke a large chunk of it. Im positive this will be done again in the future. 

We did our family movie night where we bought WAY too many treats and watched an arguably inappropriate movie, "Stuber", which the kids loved.

 We did all the gummy and hard candy and treats galore because the following day, July 8th, Carter was getting braces. We took a before photo but he just keeps saying "we will get a braces photo later" and Im giving him that space if he needs it. But truthfully, they look great and you can barely tell. The second day was H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS for him but each day after that has gotten better and better. 

We expect him to have them for 12-18 months but hopefully closer to 12 months and then he will be good forever. 

These summer moments give me all the feelings. Some people play the lottery each week hoping to be the winner. What we know is that we have already won the lottery. Our kids are home and healthy and our summers looks like this. Little moments that fill in the gap to bigger adventures together, we already are as rich as can be even if it's not money that is making us rich.
