Bye May...Hi June!
We did it! We survived May and now the final level of the school year is unlocked and ready to tackle. June is a whole different beast. Exams, spirit days, fundraising and grad. So many things coming in our lane in June.
I love that I found time (and the mental capacity!) to do a little project for me. It filled my bucket and feels so fresh! These blinds have been bugging me so much recently. They're dirty and sun-bleached and I just hated looking through them all the time. So, after looking for hours and days for the perfect curtains, I found them!
I ordered them off Etsy. They weren't cheap but I wanted something I loved and that goal has been accomplished! I love them so much and am so happy with them. Before the beautiful new curtains..
After the beautiful new curtains...
To be honest, this project intimidated me.. like, I wanted to put them up so badly but our evenings are filled with sports and carpools so although I knew for a fact Brian and I would be able to do it together.. I gave it a go and prayed for our walls that I wouldn't make too many unnecessary holes while doing this alone during the day while everyone else was at school or work and it worked out perfectly.. A special shout out and thanks to the big guy above. So glad I was able to do that!
To finish off May we celebrated my Mom's birthday. She just turned 65 but I always just say 60'something. I appreciate her so much. She has a big heart and a kind soul and I am grateful for her! Amanda and Logan hosted dinner and it was great! They did BBQ burgers and I brought dessert. It was fun to celebrate her!
And to welcome June, we met up with our Reed family and did the Type 1 Diabetes walk! We donated money and walked 4km together to raise money and awareness for our little niece who is a true superhero battles T1D every single day while also being celiac and a teenager! She's amazing and we admire her. Happy we were able to do this with her!
The cutest thing I heard was our 4 year old nephew say "why is diabetes making us do this?!" When we were on the last leg of the walk and his legs were tired. The best sentence of the day! lol
Tomorrow, we celebrate my sister's 40th birthday!! Her and I are meeting at the mall for shopping and a morning smoothie. Im excited to just celebrate her. She's my forever best friend and I am so grateful every single day that God gave her to me. Don't know what I would do without this girl!
So many beautiful little pieces of life to remember. Little moments that later on in life will feel like the moments that meant the most.
Im excited for all that June will have in store for us and SO excited to ring in the summer with my 3 little besties!
