Reading Week

I love how different phases of life bring different experiences and feelings. Like, when our kids were really little, reading week was filled with extravagant activities every day. Little adventures that would tire kids out enough for bedtime to be smooth. And now, now that they're big kids, we soak in the slow morning with the sunrise peaking through the windows. We sleep in, watch screens and stay up late. We love the little amount of activates on the calendar and find so much peace at the smallest activity. This is a fun phase too. So much goodness to be remembered.

Penny got to try skiing for the very first time a couple of weeks ago. She got to go with her school and loved it. We never would have thought anything different. This girl is always awesome about trying new things.

Last week, the kids were off for the week. The weather was bitter cold and the calendar wasn't filled with commitments. It was glorious. We crafted, had friends over and went to the church gym to play multiple times and had some cousins over too!

We did science experiments for fun. I love that they still love doing this with us. We laughed so much.

We did a couple of experiments and we've done before and some new ones. We did this zip lock bag explosion that was suppose to just "pop" and Carter and Penny's did just that but Bentley's bag exploded out the seam making us scream, vinegar went everywhere and we laughed so so much at the disaster his was.

Bentley and Penny made Oobleck and we all enjoyed that!

After a week of midterms and projects due at school it felt so great to have a week off with these best friend kids of ours. We are already on the countdown to spring break! We cherish these moments with them more than I could ever express. There is just so much to be grateful for!
