10 games in 2 days
Woah. This was definitely a weekend to remember! We had 10 basketball games this weekend, a funeral, a baptism, teaching a relief society lesson, and two tournaments in different cities. Im not even sure Brian and I have decompressed yet but somehow, through some miracle, we did it. This is the life we chose. We choose to be busy and we love it but just because we love it, doesn't mean we are excused from the exhaustion. We will sleep when we're older right?
This post is all about Basketball. Our kids are LOVING basketball. The boys (especially Carter currently) just eat and breath it in every waking moment. It's their favourite past time. This weekend, Carter was in a big tournament in Red Deer. He and I rushed out to Red Deer on Friday where him and his team competed and worked their butts off to win in overtime! It was a crazy game and my nerves were completely shot!
They played an equally competitive game on Saturday at 1pm and somehow pulled out a win! My nerves were once again.. completely shot. This game brought them to the championship game at 7pm. We were so happy when the won by 20 to bring home the championship title! Go Sr. Dragons!! Our Sr. boys school team hasn't won this tournament in years so it was such a great accomplishment and Carter was a big part of that. I am so so proud to sit on that side line and cheer on our guy and tell everyone that jersey #1 belongs to me!
And all while Bentley was playing this tournament, Penny was playing a double header with her basketball team. It was a crazy weekend! She won her first game and then their undefeated season came to an end with a loss on their second game. Apparently, there were lots of tears shed from her teammates but Brian told me that she was happy. She said the adrenaline was so fun to feel and that this loss will make the next win even better. This perspective was amazing. I love that she had those thoughts. Way to be, Penny!! You make us so proud and watching our number "43-spicey P" has been so much fun this season!!!
And perhaps, behind closed doors, Brian and I can take the real MVP award home. Millions of hours driving and sitting court-side cheering on the kids and texting each other non-stop updates on all the games that we're at. I wouldn't want to do this with anyone else. Brian is my favourite Bench-Buddy.
We really are living such a wonderful life watching our favourite players in the entire world with a front row seat. How lucky are we!
