Final Christmas Concert
My heart is written right in the title. This week we went to the elementary Christmas Concert. My heart actually can't handle that this is our very last Christmas concert with our children. Next year, Penny will be in grade 6 and in the band concert instead of the elementary Christmas concert. I am not ready for this. It's slipping through my fingers and even though we have prioritized every phase, every single concert (sometimes twice!) it still stings when chapters close and that was this one for me.
The doors opened at 6 and we got as close to the front as possible with the flood of people piling though the gym doors like water coming out of a tap. It was packed. When our girl sang, nothing else in the world mattered. She looked so beautiful and I was so happy to just be there.
Penny is in the grade 3-5 choir too so she sang songs with her choir, her class and got to play the bells this year. She was on that stage lots and it was just the best!
Grandma and Grandpa Gardiner came and she really felt so special. I cannot believe we're nearing the end of elementary school. If I think about it too much I spiral. Im excited for the future and who these amazing kids will turn into but I'm not sure I'll ever be ready to "move on" into the next phase. Someone help me!
Penny girl, we are so so proud of you! Your confidence is amazing and your love of performing is literally the BEST! I hope you never loose that desire to share your talents. You are such an incredible human and we are SO lucky you belong to us!
Love you girl, great job at your final Christmas concert. You rock!
