All sorts of Christmasy

 Ah, all the festivities have commences and traditions are in full swing. School finished and we couldn't feel more relieved and ready for a break of family fun! We barely survived the last week of school trying to remember the fun themes every day and field trips, class parties, class gift exchanges (the list is literally never ending) and couldn't let this week pass without documenting Penny's "ugly Christmas Sweater" project. 

She used one of my old sweaters and decorated it so so cute! 

We've watched Christmas movies, ate so many treats and went to a high school basketball game to cheer on one of our favourite girls, Brinley!

Last night, we made it to the live nativity pageant and it was glorious. I love this tradition. The timing was literally perfect. We parked, walked right into the next showing and got to sit down right away. The weather was "warm" and I almost died as my big guy Carter rest his head on my shoulder and whispered "I love you, Mom" during the performance. Those moments are getting father and farther between and I cherish them more than he will ever know. Love you too, bud. 

Tonight, we visited Great Grandma Hawryluk. Shamefully, we haven't seen her in a little while. I know she gets confused and sometimes can't remember people and often I wonder if its nice for her or confusing for her when we visit but tonight our whole big family went with cousins and siblings and grandparents and it was really nice to surround her with so much love. 

The kids acted out the nativity for her and we all sang Christmas carols. I know this little tradition means so much to her and to Mom Reed and because of that, it means a lot to me too. 

Tomorrow, we head into Christmas Adam and then Christmas Eve and in 3 sleeps we will be celebrating the birth of our Saviour with all our family. What a beautiful, exhausting and completely soul filling time of the year. We are excited for it all!
