Until the end.

This is the strangest last day of school to date! Im not sure if it's the fact that its cold and rainy here today or that we've been so busy that the anticipation of the very last day of school snuck up on us and our emotions haven't quite caught up with the day that it is or what.. but it definitely does not have that "Last day of school!!!" feeling. Leading up to this day has been so fun and so so busy! We have been up to all sorts of things! The school did their annual "wear your favourite Jersey day" and this time.. Penny's friends got creative. Theres only one favourite Jersey here!
We've had matching recess war wounds with best friends..
And the school dance..
We were invited to a special tea party put on by our school for all the volunteers too!
I got picked to go on Carter's year end field trip to the science center and Bentley's year end field trip to Calaway Park. Although doing this the last week of school felt like way too much for me at the time, I am so glad I did because the volunteering opportunities for the older grade are pretty few and far between now.
Yesterday Penny performed in her school Talent show. I was a nervous wreck for her but in true Penny fashion, she KILLED it! She was amazing and we are so proud of her. This girl, she is beyond brave and so confident and we should all try to be like Penny!!
We also are SO proud of Carter and his accomplishments this year! He won MVP for Basketball and Volleyball and also got an award for the Honour Roll in all 4 core classes. He has worked SO hard this year. Studied lots and out in so much effort academically this year and has been recognized for it! Way to go, Carter!!!! So so SOOO proud of you!!
It has been an INSANE week but we've finally made it to the end!! We leave on holidays in two days and I am not even almost ready. I cannot believe Penny is heading to grade 5, Bentley to grade 7 and Carter to his final year at our school.. grade 9!
We have felt so lucky that Penny had Ms. Bootle for her grade 4 year. She has been WONDERFUL for Penny and we are so grateful for all the time and attention she had for her class. Bentley LOVED the second half of the year with their new teacher, Ms. Skory. She really is heaven sent and turned the entire year around. She is kind, aware, thoughtful and makes learning fun. We are so thankful for her and her love for Bentley! And Carter.. well he hit the jackpot with his Jr. High teachers this year. Having Mr. Borko for Social and L.A and Mr. Dubs for Science and Math. I am positive his grades were higher because of these awesome teachers. It has been such a great year for Carter and these guys were a huge part of that! And even though it didn't feel like the last day of school, we took our friends photos and said see you later to friends and teachers.
We are SO excited to get our summer started and start checking things off our bucket list.
The best part.. is that our bucket list only shows a small bit of all the adventures I know we're going to have this summer and I can't wait! I am so glad they're home for the summer and theres no more daily lunch kits to pack! This is gonna be GREAT!
