Happy Father's Day
We celebrated this father's day at the Alley Oop Canada basketball tournament where all three of our kids played and competed against multiples teams over 3 days. It was CRAZY and AWESOME and EXHAUSTING and more memories were made. What a priviledge it was to be able to play in that tournament this past weekend. I really don't think Brian would have rather done anything else for Father's Day.
Brian is literally the worlds best Dad. I am positive of it. He disiplines with love, nurtures them, loves them beyond himself and is there the second any of them need him. He coaches their basetball teams, is their biggest (LOUDEST!!) spectator and constantly doing game replays on all the positive things that they did and things that could use improvement without taking away from their heart and husstle. He is helpful around the house, shows the kids true love by always putting me first and respecting us. I admire Brian so so much. I really think the world of you Bri, I love you! Happy Father's Day.
In order to make it a successful day (knowing we would be spending our entire weekend at the Oval) we had to be prepared early. We made cards and got Brian a massager that he's been eyeing! (ok fine.. technicallyl he bought it and I wrapped it but no one needs to know that lol)
We visited with my Dad a couple of days before.. again, knowing that we would be seeing them for one minute and full exhaustion by the time sunday night rolled around and we knew he deserved more than just a "fluff" visit out of obligation so we went and brought him treats and a gift and hung out for a little bit. They were in a great game of carsd with their neighbour friends so I didn't snap a picture (fully regretting that!) but man I love this man. I am grateful for his influence in my life and his silent battles that he lets me in to help him with. He is strong and compasionate and LOVES to stay home and work on projects or hang out watching as many old cowboy movies as he can find. He is there in a minute if I need him and lets us raid his garage for tools when we have home projects to accomplish. I love you Dad. Happy Father's Day!
And I cannot forget about my incredible Father-in-law. I know Brian didn't just become an amazing Dad... he learnt that from his Dad. Dad Reed is one of a kind. He is passionate about his grass and rain bin set up (it actualy is so incredible and if im honest.. Im jealous about it!) and comes to his grandkids sports which we apprecite more than he knows! He is there in a heartbeat anytime we need him. His example of family and respect does not go unnoticed and I am so beyond grateful he is my second Dad. I really hit the jackpot. Happy Father's Day!
