Mom.
Celebrating Mother's day looked very different this year. With our home in full construction mode and a million projects to be done before the flooring arrives and spring sports, we just had to keep going. However, I will say, it still was sucha. beautiful day.
We celebrated Mother's Day for my Mom on Saturday. We helped my sister host a brunch at her place and I think it turned out perfect. It was nice to spoil my Mom for a morning and celebrate her.
She loved her gift card to costco to get flowers for her garden and little painted rocks for her veggie garden from the grandkids. She has such a sweet smile, it always makes me smile when I see her happy.
I am grateful for this beautiful mom of mine.
We had church, a baseball game and project after project on Sunday and it was wonderful to check some things off our list together! Bentley even got the golden glove after his baseball game for being an awesome back catcher! Yay Bentley!
Brian is such a champion and to be honest, his help doing the projects I wasn't confident doing myself was exactly what I wanted for Mother's Day. We had fun doing them together. The kids made me THE SWEETEST cards ever. Like, HOOOWWWW are our kids so wonderful. I am the luckiest Mama in the whole entire world!
The little words they wrote to me mean more than they'll ever know. I cherish words so much and the words they wrote will fill my soul forever.
Brian also surprised me with a cute Lulu shirt and joggers! He is the best at picking things out! Love you babe.
Given the state of our home right now, we defaulted to sushi for dinner (best Mother's Day dinner ever!!). I felt so loved.
We visited Mom Reed on Sunday evening. We also got her a costco gift card for flowers and each kid painted her a garden rock too. We love you Mom!
I am grateful for a Mother-in-law who is so wonderful, caring and devoted to her family. She is a great example to me and raised the most incredible man. I'll forver be grateful for that and take care of him for the rest of my life!
The most precious title to me will always be “Mom”. So many amazing, stressful, hard, beautiful, exhausting and fulfilling moments come from having the honour of being their Mom. From learning a rap song to see a 13 year smile bigger than ever before and proving that I can still do anything they challenge me to do. To dressing up like Taylor Swift to fill a bucket list with Penny and see the Taylor Swift concer movie, dancing on the floor screaming out every lyric to every song with her (and her cousins) not caring what anyone else in that theater thought of us because I was just with Penny in that moment. To tender moments like being at a basketball tournament from sun-up to sun-down, day after day, and Bentley sneaking off to buy me a cold Diet Coke with his own money just to say “thanks for being my mom and supporting me to play foundations bball” .. like, it’s those moments. My tired eyes well with tears and my heart swells with gratitude for these humans that fill our home with laughter and love and even bickering. Nothing else will ever beat, being their Mom.
I just really am so grateful for the priviledge it is to be their Mom. I will never take this title for granted.
