BBall BBall BBall...

Our current life is just basketball basketball basketball, with a side of baseball training and 3 dance classes and I wouldn't have it ANY OTHER WAY! I know people hear how crazy our schedule is and feel freaked out by it and to be honest, there are so many days that overwhelming feelings of "How will we make this all work?" creep in but somehow it works out. We divide and conquer everyday life and when you get to do that with your best friend... well, its worth every moment. Our kids are our favourite people and watching them on the side of a court in a loud gym feels right at home for me. So long as they love it, so will I.

Let's start with Penny girl! This girl, who months ago said she didn't like basketball and didn't want to do it, is now two feet in and counting down the days until her saturday games. She is FIERCE on the court. Creating opportunites for herself and her team, making buckets, grabbing rebounds and honestly loving it! We are so happy for her. She still loves dance and now her heart is split between the two. She's pretty fun to watch play.
Bentley has been so lucky to be playing community basketball AND grade 6 basketball at school. He really is loving it all so much and wants to develop his skill even more. It has been SO much fun watching him make plays, being a GREAT defensive player and guard. Even cashing in a few 3s. Love this sweet guy of ours!
Bentley said they won all their school games. Brian and I were at a funeral and only able to watch the last game that day BUT my eyes were glued onto Bentley. I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else!
To say this particular sport makes him so happy is an understatement!

Of course we cannot forget Carter. This kid lives and breaths basketball. Watching highlights, kept up to date on trades and games and two feet into his Jr. Bball team at school as well as community ball. He is at 4 practices a week and at least 2 games a week (not including tournaments) he is amazing! His skill is developing at a rapid rate and we're so excited for him. Basketball drives Carter. We are so proud of him.
Gettin' over the big guys, dribbling through them, waiting for plays to develop and being patient is a few things that stand out for us with Carter. Recentley his school team played out in a tournament in High River. They had a short bench that weekend and came home with the Silver. Where Carter and his buddy, Toby, lead the team through the games and came out as a shared MVP for the weekend. So so proud of this kid.
Community and School Basketball are about to wrap up just in time for baseball and club ball to start and we're pretty excited about it! These kids work so hard for what the love and it makes all the exhaustion so worth it.

Just last week, Brian and the boys have been waking up at 5:30am and training (just the three of them) basketball for an hour each weekday. I am so impressed by their drive, commitment and desire to become better. This really reveals character. They are amazing boys and HOLY COW... Brian... he's incredible for making this work, doing it with them and getting them up and out the door before 6am and home in time to get ready for school. I am in awe at the incredible Dad that he is. Im not surprised because Brian has always been amazing but definitely in awe and just how incredible he is. Our kids are the luckiest!
