On the Eve of Christmas
Christmas Eve is just as exciting as Christmas Day for us. We always get together with our whole Reed family. Nothing could beat cousins! All the Reed cousins get along so good... like, they all just gel and its always such a treat to be together. We are so lucky!
Christmas Eve landed on a Sunday this year. I LOVE this. We went to church for an hour and it was the perfect amount of Calm to welcome the true Christmas spirit into our hearts. Grandma Gardiner came with us which was such a treat!
I feel beyond grateful for this little family of ours. As we wrap our arms around them through the hussle of Christmas and remind ourselves of the true meaning of Christmas.
We spent the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the next two days of Christmas adventues and then we headed over to Mom and Dad Reed's house for the afternoon/evening. Mom Reed put together 14 little gingerbread houses for all grandkids and even made two special Gluten Free ones for Sawyer and Carter. My heart was swelling with love for this little gesture of love from a Grandma. Thank you Mom Reed! She always does such a great job!
We even pulled out Grandma's food scale to see who's was the heaviest. Haha I love these guys so much!
We had a super chill dinner which was taco soup, cold turkey sandwiches and a bunch of salads and sides. It was so fun and relaxed and nice to sit anywhere and visit!
Then, it was gifts. We exchanges gifts for families, to grandkids and grandparents and parents. Everyone was so thoughtful and spoiled!
How did I ever get so lucky to marry into a family that is as wonderful as they are. I am so grateful for Mom and Dad Reed and all that they do for us. So grateful to be able to Celebrate Christmas with all these awesome people!
We got home, put out Santa's cookies and carrots for each reindeer. Got some treats and headed upstairs for our annual Christmas movie sleepover! We're watching 8-bit-Christmas and then hurrying to bed so Santa can arrive!
What an awesome day it has been. We're so excited for Santa to come, to see more cousins tomorrow and enjoy a beautiful Christmas dinner with family and at the very end of it all, Brian and I will tuck in each of our children, with a kiss and a cuddle and our hearts will be filled with the Christmas joy that this seasons brings.
