Oink Oink BOO!
Well, Halloween 2023 is wrapped up and was SO much fun! It was as busy as every with Bentley's birthday and Halloween and a million fun things to do and we wouldn't have it any other way!
This year, our kids... and 18 other kids.... all decided to dress up at Pigs!
Of course, I think our three pigs were the cutest but whole herd is really what made this costume amazing. They all go to the same school but are spread accross multiple grades.. from Kindergarten to grade 9. Like, how CUTE!!!
I went to their school Halloween parade in the afternoon and it was so fun to see all the cute costumes. I really feel like our school goes all out and I LOVE IT! I even added a little surprise homemade halloween bark into their lunches.
We celebrated Bentley's birthday and then met SO many people down in Cranston to Trick-Or-Treat! There were SO many kids and our kids had a blast! Lots of Carter's buddies got dropped off and they all hung out together going house to house, like... it really cannot get any better then that! Bentley had lots of friends too and his birthday-twin-best-friend, Baylor... they were also livin the dream. As for Penny.. that girl is FAST! Telling me all the candy she got from one house as she ran to the next. She was loving running around with friends, laughing, chatting and just the epitome of being a kid!
When we got home the kids immeidtaley dumped out their candy into piles and started to sort them. Pulling out all the peanut ones and Carter also pulling out anything that contained wheat.. this poor kid had the smallest stash of candy when he was done.
It really was so deflating BUT I knew it might be a sadder year for him so ... Mom to the rescue! Prior to Halloween I did some research and went to the store to find all the gluten free candies and bought a couple of boxes and hid them in my closet just incase..
...and Oh My Goodness, I am so glad I did because the second he saw how little candy he had.. Brian and I went and got them and dumped them into his little bucket and you should have seen his smile. It was super sweet and it made my mom heart swell with joy. Im so glad. We dumped some into Bentley and Penny's piles too and they're now all looking really even. This seriously made me feel so happy.
Now that we have enough candy to last months and months, Halloween is over, Bentley feels celebrated and loved.. we switch gears to Carter's birthday and Christmas. It really is a revolving door of celebrating this time of year for us and although we are beyond tired.. we wouldn't change it for the world. Happy Halloween!
