She's Nine !!

This sweet, compassionate little lady is NINE! Like, where did the last nine years go. Im feeling extra grateful we spoiled her at her birthday party because to be honest, her actual birthday was kind of a flop. It started off with tears over a gift she wanted but did't get and ended with tears over her biggest brother constantly poking and proading at her all day. Sometimes, you just can't win. We did try to make all the in betweens special but I totally understand us all wanting a "do-over" after it was done.

Penny, regardless of the tears shed on your birthday, I hope that you know how much we love you! Penny is the perfect example of living and loving life. She gets excited about everything! She even sometimes wakes me up at 7am on the dot by asking whats for dinner that night.. lol. She brings us SO MUCH JOY! She is inclusive and is friends with everyone. Penny has a heart of gold and she is ours forever!

It is no wonder when I asked where she wanted to do her birthday photos this year she chose a super colourful rooftop in downtown Calgary! She picked out her favourite outfit and we drive downtown, just her and I.
This girl is FULL of personality and serioulsy so incredible to be around. She is super creative and loving and is always on the lookout for playing, hanging out or finding a comedy to watch.
We started off her birthday with french toast and whip cream! Yumm!
We set up up little table, added her gifts and she was so excited!
We previoulsy wrapped her gifts and I made her birthday card. She specifically asked for these things and we were excited to give them to her.
She couldn't wait to open her gifts so right after breakfast thats exactly what she did!
Penny chose speghetti for lunch (delicious!) and had both sets of Grandparents stop by and spoil her more. This girl is so loved.
Although Penny really did love and appreciate each gift she got, she really wanted a doll. She changed her mind too close to her birthday when all gifts were already wrapped. I felt the guilt, she felt sad and we both agreed it would be the perfect Christmas gift in a couple of months.

We spent the afternoon pampering Penny. I did her nails and Brian did a facemask with her.
For dinner, Penny chose Enchilada's. And for her "cake" she wanted mini cupcakes (the bottom Layer are gluten free for Carter and Bri) and Chocolate Dipped strawberries. It was all so so good!
We finished the night watching a family movie (Called Instant Family) with 3 little homemade birthday chocolate bars.
It was a day filled with wonderful parts and some sad parts too. Still cannot believe our "baby" is nine. She really is the life of the party and we are so beyond blessed to have her. Penny, you are all kinds of wonderful. Happy 9th Birthday Sweetheart!

WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!
