Almost the end..
EEEEEeeeee!!! My excitment for summer break is at an all time high! We only have 2 and a half days left and the anticipation of fun summer adventures is killing me! I cannot wait for the kids to be home this summer. We already have so many fun adventures planned, it is going to be a great summer!
BUT! Before we get to the end of the school year.. we cannot forget all the tiny moments leading up to it! Its an exciting time of the year. Things are ending, parties are happening and everyday is something on the calendar to remember!
Carter recently went to the final Jr. High dance of the year. It was a fancy fairwell dance to the grade 9 students. We had some of Carter's friends over for the afternoon. They hung out, played basketball and walked to Circle K where they spent $57 on candy! Lesson learned. I gave the group $20 to share.. you know.. buy a slurpee or a small treat each... I didn't realize that some of the kids had their own money too. Long story short, they spent $57 total "for the group". Lesson learned lol
After buying the entire corner store, they watched a movie, had pizza for dinner and then got ready for the dance together! What an awesome and fun group of friends!!
Carter said the dance was awesome! They danced and all lost their voices from singing at the top of their lungs. I know I didn't get all the details of this dance but Im so glad he has his own memories in his youth.
Bentley also recently lost another tooth. I feel like the tooth fairy job is slowly fading away. All the bigger teeth are starting to fall out and soon they will only have adult teeth left!
And because it's nearing the end of the school year, our living room is starting to fill up with school work being sent home and Im stuggling to not just "toss it all and move on" and also not to just "keep it all and move on" and so it will sit in the little boxes in my living room until I know what to do with it. Luckily, Bentley was happy to settle with a picture of this project and then toss it. Phewff! He's the cutest!
And Penny! This sweet sweet girl! Today, she performed with her two friends, Violet and Presley, in the school talent show. She shined!! She is so into performing! I love that about her. She just beems with happiness! She danced to the song "Standout" and nailed it!
Way to go, girls!!!
And although I am SO proud of our kids. And also SO PROUD of Brian.. he's been studying with Carter for his exams this week until nearly 10pm. I can't even begin studying the dry content of grade 7 again but Brian has taken this to a new level. ALLLLLLL the heart eyes for his intense study Dad mode with Carter.
I am also proud of myself! A new friend from school was hosting a blood drive for her daughter that she lost the day she was born. My heart shatters for her story. I have never given blood before. I am terrified of needles but for a friend, I knew what I needed to do. So last week, I donated blood for the very first time! It was intimidating and stressful and I only felt faint for a few minutes but I did it and I was happy to support this sweet mama friend during this hard time.
And lasy but certainly not least. My best friend, my oldest friend, came from Australia for a few days. Spending time with Rachel was so good for my soul. I sure love re-connecting with her. It really was so nice, so chill and I always send her back wishing she was staying longer.
