Happy Easter
This year, Easter came so fast and went even faster. My heart couldn't keep up with the reminder of the Saviours attoning sacrifice and trational easter activities for our kids.
We celebrated Easter the entire weekend and yet still felt like I missing a kep part of it. I really should have done the Easter holy week with our family but like everything else, it slipped away and now its over. Next year, Im definitely going to pull it out next year and try to focus our easter more on Christ.
With that being said, our Easter really was so beautiful in its own busy way. Church was only sacrament this week and that was lovely!
We celebrated Easter with the Reed side of our family on Friday. Good Friday. It was so nice being all together. Mom and Dad Reed always do such an amazing job at setting up Easter dinner. Everything we ate was so yummy, we even all went back for seconds.
Mom Reed set up the annual Easter Egg hunt and nailed it! Our kids look forward to this activity every year. Parents hid the eggs and Brian did not go easy on our boys. It was awesome!
The rest of the evening was awesome. We all hung out and adults cleaned up while the cousins ran around the church playing hide and go seek, sardiens, tag and pickle ball. Serioulsy non stop laughing and fun. What a wonderful way to celebrate Easter.
Saturday had a special feel to it. I had a thought come to mind that after the death of Christ on Good Friday. Saturday must have been the saddest day of all time. A time of lost hope. Knowing that Christ was killed the day before, Saturday must have felt like darkest day. Not understanding what tomorrow would bring. I reflected upon this a lot on Saturday. Almost a shivering feeling of unknown of what tomorrow will bring.
Despite the humblings feelings that morning, we celebrated Easter with my side of the family on Saturday. We went to my parents house on Saturday for the afternoon and dinner. Again, it was such a wonderful time spent with family. We visited and ate the yummiest appitizers and dinner. We were STUFFED!
We even got to do another easter egg hunt with cousins on this day. The kids were excited and were all in. It was chaos and fun!
Thanks Mom and Dad, it was a lovely Easter.
Sunday was the day the Easter Bunny came. I think we're startng to run out of years for the EB but Im taking every one I still can. There was our annual easter egg scavenger hunt and we all loved it.
Brian and I put together Easter baskets for the kids. I love using useful things in their baskets and this year we are SOOO EXCITED to have tickets to Cirque this summer. We cannot wait!
We got a knock on the door at 7:30am and it was our incredible neighbour, Scott, who dropped off another Easter basket FILLED with WAY TOO MANY TREATS!! Like, we are so spoiled, I cannot even fathom how Scott spoils our kids. They are the luckiest kids in the city!
Brian and I were even spoiled with the sweetest Card from Bentley and the cutest painted rocks from Penny.
Because we already had our big family easter dinners, Sunday was an awesome day to spend together. We picked up our niece, Lucy and Nephew, Reed and went on a little adventure! We ended up in Cochrane at a really fun park right beside the river. We BBQ'd hot dogs and played and tried to fish with no luck. The weather was beautiful and it was awesome to just hang out.
We finisihed off a pretty great Easter weekend with one extra nephew, Little Gus, and watched the Movie "Mummies". It was awesome and the perfect way to end our family weekend.
I am so grateful for our saviour, Jesus Christ, and his attoning sacrifice. For making it possible to return to heaven and repent. To have the knowledge that the Saviour of the world, walked a mile in my shoes. That I am never alone and that he and only he can understand my entire soul. Every heart ache, pain and every experience. I am eternally grateful for Easter and the hope that came on that Sunday morning. What a forever blessing we have been given. Happy Easter.
