1/2 Spring Break
This year we get TWO FULL WEEKS off for Spring Break! So so dreamy. Initially I was worried about trying to find enough fun things to do for two weeks but its already over 1/2 over and Im already wishing we had more time.
We started off Spring break on a girl date. Both the boys had plans with friends so Penny and I went to colour me mine and painted clay and then to dinner and to buy a few new outfits. It was the perfect night spent with my girl. Bentley was at a birthday party and Carter was at his friend, Rachel's house hanging out. Brian had tickets to the car show that weekend so we did that. Although, it was only about 45 minutes before we all lost interest, it was still fun to see it. And since we were half way there, we stopped at our favourite pet shop to see the monkeys, turtles, sting rays and so many other cool creatures. We played intense church ball a few times last week and hung out with so many friends! And on Friday, Brian suggested this amazing place downtown. I have been wanting to go for so long but just haven't gotten around to it and last week the city opened up 3 bball half courts. Its called High Park in Calgary and it was AMAZING!! So fun and the best views!
We played and played and even had a few rounds of family Bump. It was the perfect morning and afternoon spent. I cannot wait to go back!
Today was a little heavier of a day. I want to scieze every day of Spring Break with our kids. I want to be busy and experience things but they're in a mode of "well, if our friends can come then that would be fun". To be honest, its been hurting my feelings (which I know sounds so childish). I know these days with them are fleeting. I want to cherish and create as many memories as we can. To live everyday like it might be our last but waiting for friends and then sometimes doing nothing has been getting to me. Today, I expressed all my feelings to them. We cried. I wish they knew how much I wanted to spend time with them. And with friends too but when friends can't do something, I still want to hang out with our kids. Anyway. It was a heavy day. We chose to go get a drink from covet and explore big rock. I am so glad we did because our friends never got back to us so Im glad we didn't just sit around waiting at home.
It ended up being an awesome afternoon and I think everyone had a great time. I am excited for what the rest of the week holds for us. This is such an awesome precurser to summer. All good vibes comin' our way!
