End of a Chapter in the same book
Well, three more basketball teams are off our calendar as we cheered and celebrated all the final games this last week. We cheered on our fellow dragons and watched Carter finish out his Jr. Boys school Basketball. What an exciting and cool experience for him (and us!) Carter was a guard, and a great one at that! He got tons of court time and made his mark. We are so proud of him and how hard he's worked for this team. He had after school practice every Monday until 5pm and 7am practice every Wednesday and never complained once. He literally gave it all he had!
He got to do this with his two best friends, Nixon and Toby, and truly had such an amazing season. They came in 2nd overall and brought home silver. Way to go Dragons!
Bentley also finsihed out his community basketball, Brian coached Bentley this season and it was such a fun experience for him to do that. Bentley had a great team, made great friendships and memories and CANNOT wait for his club ball to get started.
We are so proud of you Bentley! Your skills and development have skyrocketed!! You are amazing and so dedicated to your basketball that I know you're going to do great things with it! You are so fun, its been the best watching you play your game this season!
And to really stick a final stamp on this chapter, we all headed up to Edmonton for the weekend for the Alberta Basketball Provincials. Carter's team was in it and man was it ever intense!! On Friday night, they played and won 70-44! On Saturday they had two games. One at 12:30pm and one at 5pm. They PLAYED SO HARD and we are so proud of them! That was great basketball to watch! They lost in overtime at the 12:30pm game. It was so intense. They played again at 5pm and despite their VERY BEST efforts and a couple of bad ref calls, they ended up loosing by only a few points. It was such amazing game to watch. Carter literally left EVEYTHING out on that court, we are so so proud of him!!
They ended up placing 4th in the province, way to go boys!
Lost of these boys are on the same club ball team as Carter so we're really excited for this club ball season that just a couple of weeks away!
One of the kids "priorities" while we were in Edmonton was to go to West Edmonton Mall. We were able to make it happen on Friday before Carter's first game and I am so glad we did! They REALLLLLLLY wanted to go to the Lego store and see the life size Ferrari. They were not even a little dissapointed!
We really are a lego family!
This mall really is super cool. We checked out the ship and seals and as much as we could in the hour that we had. So glad we were able to make this happen for them while we were there!
It was a fun successful weekend. And now, as I wash their jerseys and end this chapter, we turn the page into the same book with new jerseys and new sports adventures. Literally, cannot wait.
