-40 break
The past week the kids were off school for reading week. It always such a nice mid winter break week were we can chill and catch up. We had been looking forward to it. It was really fun and also the most amount of chill pajamas days we could have possibly had. I think Carter stayed in his pajamas the literal ENTIRE week except for the few times we left.
We binged watched the show Schitt's Creek (my favourite!), went to flying squirrel and swimming with friends. Penny went to a birthday party, we got covet and R.E.L.A.X.E.D and it was amazing! It was also -40 and we got 2 feet of snow so that helped encourage us to slow life down and take the week.
I didn't take my camera out and to be honest, we really didn't do anything that exciting. Last Friday I turned 36 and even that didn't warrent a bunch of photos this year. I guess the whole week was just a slower pace and thats ok. On Friday, I drove Penny out to and from her best friends birthday party. She had a blast and Im glad she was able to do that.
Brian made shrimp tacos for dinner (the kids had cheese noodles) and I made homemade caramel sauce for over ice cream for dessert. We opened gifts. Penny got me matching butterfly birthstone necklaces for her and I.
They are really sweet and we have worn them everyday together since. Thanks Penny girl! Bentley got me a new lego keychain. A big bird one, which is really nestalgic because as a kid that was my favourite show. I grew up with Seasame Street and my old lego key chain was SOOOO old and the paint on the clothes had rubbed off on all the private parts of the girl.. it was funny but also... time for a new one. Thanks Bentley!
Carter got me some lego flowers. They definitely make me think of Carter. I have them up in my room and they are perfect. Thanks buddy!
Brian got me my blog book printed from 2022. It is so beautiful and I feel so grateful for it! What a treasure these are to get each year. Thanks babe.
We finished the night off watching Carter play basketball. His team won by 30 and they all played great. There was no where else I would have rather been.
