New.

I always look forward to a new year. For me, January brings a stillness to our life. There are no kids sports or commitments for the first week and we settle into a relaxing week together. I look forward to the slower photography season after 6 months of non stop shoots. I look forward to the little things like, washing the blinds and crock pot meals. January seems to just be still for a moment and I love it.

The first week of January has already proven to be spontaneous. Brian went back to work yesterday and was home by 9am because he left his job, got a new job and is shifting dealer groups starting in a week. Wow! That was a lot of infortamtion to process and if you know me, no matter how gtreat change can be.. I struggle with change. I go into every "what-if" possibility and kind of suck the excitment out of it. Sometimes. And I did just that. I spirraled at how fast everything went but tonight, I feel better.

I am excited for Brians carrier shift and excited for him to start fresh. He is so happy and really feels valued. I am so happy that I get him home for another week. We can reset and settle into this new routine.

I am so happy that we get one last week to adventure as a family and enjoy our time together. We went to the church gym to play basketball until 10pm last night and went back all afternoon today to do the same. I love having Brian by my side and am so happy about how refreshed he feels to start this year with a new working adventure. He seriously is such a hero in my eyes. He is brave and takes on a new challenge the way I take on a new flavour of sweet ice cream. I admire him so much.

This year will be surrounded by kids sports and driving around in all directions. We will be supporting Brian behind the scenes with his new job and hoping my photography takes another big leap like last year. But above any commitments or goals, we are mostly excited so spend yet another year around the sun with these three by our sides.

They make us so happy and as long as we stick together, our 2023 year will be a success. I am excited to take all my intense amounts of therapy from last year and turn that pain into the most rewarding year of my life. I couldn't do any of this without Bri by my side. I love you Brian. I love our life and I love spending every new year with you by my side. That midnight kiss is always so sweet.

We rang in the new years with our friends, the Walkers. We ate so many incredible appitizers, played games and loved every minute celebrating the end of a year and welcoming a new year at midnight. Our kids slept in which made all the partying worth it. The kids filled out their annual year in review and its always fun to see what they write. This year they each did it completely unassisted in their own time. It really is special to freeze their memories in the simplest little sheet of paper.

I am excited for new beginnings, new adventures and classic traditions. I am so excited for Brian and his new job. Manifesting all the good things coming our way! Cheers to 2023!
