Ballers
January has flown by. We have been incredibly busy with all the right activities. Brian's new job at Big4 has been great. He is loving it and is so happy. Basketball is back in full swing and keeping up busy almost every day of the week. After school practices, early monring practices, weekday games and Saturdays filled with basketball games and tournaments has us living the very best life.
Our sweet Penny girl is still in Tykes. It is a challenge being a girl in tykes with boys on your team who just do not want to pass the ball... Penny and I often look at eachother and roll our eyes because yes, it really is THAT BAD! We are all so excited for her to graduate from tykes next fall and evaluate and play on a team of only girls. That will be the best but in the meantime, we LOVE watching our girl killing it on the court. She is aggressive and you better watch her on defence, she's definitely gonna get that ball you got. She's also a great little shooter too. Serioulsy, this girl has skills! We have about 8 weeks left and I am ecited for this little munchkin, she's just the best! Bentley has been crushing his Bball skills this season. He has been watching plays, practising at home whenever he can and gives it his all on the court every weekend. His team is a little on a loosing streak and that can be hard but I am always impressed by his determination every weekend to take the win, I know it will come soon enough. Brian has been so lucky to be able to coach Bentleys team this whole season. I love that they get this unique experience together. Bentley looks up to Brian so much and is always asking advice and wanting to improve his game. He is the most humble boy who can take constructive critisim and try to get better. Bentley, you have a unique personality and we are so proud of who you are! Carter is the busiest baller right now. He plays community ball and his Junior High School team too. He is on the court at either a practise or a game nearly every day except Sundays. Its been busy but he loves it and we love supporting him in it. Way to go Carter! Watching how far Carter has developed in the last year is exciting. The game is clicking and you can see the shift in his game play. He is SO much fun to watch on the court. Last weekend his community team tied 54-54 for the final score. My palms were sweating, I couldn't take my eyes off the court and felt like I might have a heart attack. Who knew Id ever be this into basketball!? Brian tried to get me into it by watching the NBA with him for YEARS... turns out, NBA players aren't nearly as exciting to watch as your our kids! They are who made me so into this sport. Proud of you Carter! The last two weekends, Carter has also played in school tournaments. The first week at their school and the second weekend out in High River. It has been incredibly busy and non stop for two weekends in a row but worth it. Carter's team brought hom Silver from the tournament. Way to go, Dragons! As for Brian and I. Our "hot date nights" that used to be going out to dinner, watching a movie etc have turned into volunteer hours on Saturday night at the kids school during the tournament. Parenting does not get much better than this. This is such a wonderful season of life and I love that I get to do it with my very best friend. Love you Bri!
