Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve is one of our favourite days. We all wake up in anticipation for Santa and prepare for his big arrival. We love being with all the Reeds on Christmas Eve. Yet another tradition that we have always loved. It seems to get easier and easier each year as the kids grow. They are at such fun ages!
For the last handful of years we have had the kids sleep in our room on Christmas Eve. We set up cots and their bedding and pick out a Christmas movie to watch all together at the end of the day, it is just the best!
We got Santa cookies and all the little odd and ends tied up before going to Mom & Dad Reeds house for the afternoon/evening. On the way there we made a quick pit stop at my moms house to visit my grandma. She hasen't been feeling great so we stopped by to wish her a Merry Christmas and share a little gift with her. She has been such a trooper with this awful flu bug thats been going around. Hopefully she feels better for the new year.
We headed over to Mom and Dad Reeds house and it was awesome. Complete Chaos in the very best way. I got to cuddle Jasper and Henry so much and really felt like I was in heaven. Everyone was there this year. It really was such a beautiful Christmas Eve. We did the nativity play right away.
I love the nativity tradition. Not to mention the kids are amazing and so cute and funny and just bring such a special spirit to the evening. I love it!
We did a quick impromptu tallent show where a few grandkids showcased their talents. Penny sang a song that she wrote herself. It was super sweet.
Gwen sang a couple of songs too! Way to go, girl!

We tried to get Copeland to sing but he wasn't into it. His Santa shirt was talent enough.
Carter showed up how high he could jump (and touch the roof), Sawyer and Lucy did the "Kit-Kat song" and Reed showed us how to make a lego man while lying down on your back.
We had the yummiest turkey dinner, thank you Mom & Dad!!!! Everything was truly amazing. After dinner and dessert we did gifts. It was CHAOS but so fun. These grandparents sure know how to spoil their grandbabies (And their kids! Woah!). Every single gift was perfectly tailored to each individual grandchild. It really is so special to see. They know them each so well.
We are so lucky to live so close to all this family. We are SO lucky that our kids have a whole pack of built in best friends to spend the holidays with. Cousins are the best! And we are so grateful for parents who really do go above and beyond to make everyone feel loved and included. We really did hit the jackpot.
We got home aroudn 8pm. Poured the milk for Santa and got to bed. We watched the end of "Clause" and watched "Ice Age Christmas". Im going to miss these days so much one day. Until then though, we are enjoying every second of them!
