Heaven is here
On Sunday, Penny was baptized. She has been so excited for this day. She has talked about it constantly for the past year and every time she attended one of her friends baptism's, she would leave and say "Can we make mine feel that special too?". Penny is the most precious Daughter of God. She is selfless and loving. She cares so much about everyone around her. She is mindful of others feelings and is always trying her best to be inclusive and friendly to everyone she meets. She can make friends wherever she goes and undeniably loves her Saviour.
There was no hesitation where she wanted me to take her Baptism photos. The Temple is where she wanted to be. Her dress is from the Hawaii Target, she loved it the moment she saw it.
Penny is the most beautiful girl. Not only on the outside but on the inside too. She inpires us to always do better, be better and is such a beautiful example of Christlike love.
She brings so much love and light into this sometimes dark world. She is quick to say sorry and always wanting a kiss and a hug. She can beat you in Bunny, Carrot, Gun, Shoot (just like Rock, papper scissors) anyday of the week and never wants me to stop tucking her in at night.
Penny wears her heart on her sleeve. She is the most loving girl you will ever meet and we are so proud that she belongs to our eternal family. We really hit the jackpot with this girl. I am the luckiest mama in the whole entire world.
Penny helped me with every part of her baptism. She had her hand in all the details and we made this day perfect for her and exacty what she hoped it would be. Invitations went out well in advance.
Programs were designed, created and printed and she picked every song and made all the assignments. She truly knew exactly what she wanted.
We went to the church early to fill up the font and get everything ready. All the kids were great help and it all came together perfectly.
Penny wanted to have a big family dinner after and keep the special party going. We had calculated 71 people total. We made hamburgers and her Grandmas and Aunties made salads. I also made angel food cake, Penny's favourite, for dessert! Her baptism was at 5pm. It really was beautiful. The boys did a great job on their baptism talk for her. They spoke clearly and with confidence. We were so proud. Penny and her girl cousins sang the most beautiful song and the spirit was there. My heart felt so full of gratitude and so happy for our girl who has been waiting so long for this day.
Penny got into that water and was calm and excited. Brian baptized her and the room filled with love and joy. When I went to go help her change after she was standing these jumping up and down, so giddy "I did it mom!!! Im baptized!! Im baptized!!" To say that she was happy was an understatement, the biggest smile was accross her face! I gave a talk on the Holy Ghost and related it to her favourite animal, a Llama and we finished the perfect little service off singing the sweetest baptism song in her program. Everyone could feel the spirit there, I know it.
We invited everyone to stay for dinner in the gym and it was SO fun! All the kids got together and played basketball, volleyball, hide and seek and tag whie all the parents visited and ate until we were stuffed! Dinner was great, we had SO MANY family members and friends help with the clean up while Penny ran around with all her friends and cousins living her best life! It really was such a beautiful evening. Heaven was here for a moment for our girl. I am so grateful for this family that Brian and I have created. The love we have for each of our children is beyond my ability to express. This was a special day that I hope Penny never forgets how excited and happy she really was. Penny girl, congratulations on your baptism. I know you have waited so long for this day and I hope it was as special as you hoped for. You mean everything to me and Dad and the boys. You are so easy to love and so special. Always remember that you are a precious daughter of God and that he is so proud of you. Love you Penny Girl, with my whole entire heart!
