From just a seed
Ok, my whole family knows that I did not inherit a "green thumb" from my mom. I kill all plants. Even ones that only need to be watered every 6 weeks. Somehow I just cannot keep them alive so when Bentley brought him a tiny little sunflower seed from school that he had planted in class in April/May last year he made sure I knew not to touch it.
This little teeny seed grew and grew. Bentley watered it with one teaspoon every day and made sure it was in a sunny spot on our kitchen table. I did not touch it.. not even once. ALL of this was him.
When it was a few inches high, Bentley asked my mom to help him plant it in our garden. He checked on it often and we watched it grow and grow.
This fall, his little teeny sunflower seed is a FULL PLANT. I am shocked. Like, he's amazing!! Learning that sunflowers only make one flower and then its done, we eventually cut the flowers off and put them in Bentley's room to enjoy before the first frost of the season.
I am so so proud of Bentley!! He is amazing!!! Also, can't wait to get another sunflower seed this year! It was cute in our little garden.
