Comin' in Hot!
Welcome to Grade 3, 5, & 7.
They're so big!! And so fun! It seems crazy that we now have a Junior Hugh kid. JUNIOR HIGH?! MIDDLE SCHOOL?! What the heck. He is the best! Carter's first day of school was today. He woke up, got dressed, ate breakfast and was ready in the first 10 minutes of being out of his bed. Then took the next hour to walk around feeling excited and nervous!
It was better when we pulled up to the school and he met his best friend. That helped calm the nerves.
Carter said his day was great. He loves the independance and new junior high schedule. He got his options today and most importantly, he got Outdoor Ed! He also got Engineering, Drama and Digital A. He's excited to have a Flex period as well to be able to catch up on projects and assignments. Sounds like its going to be a great first semester!
Bentley and Penny both had their first day of school yesterday. Both so excited! Bentley was nervous about showing up with new glasses and hoping everyone would be kind about it. And everyone was. This didn't surprise me, he looks great in his glasses! Bentley is started grade FIVE!! Sounds crazy to say my little Bentley is in gradde 5.. woah. He has Mrs. Dixon. That is the same Grade 5 teacher that Carter had and he is happy to have her too. When I asked Bentley what he was most excited about he said "MY EXPO MARKERS!!" He wasn't even joking. He begged me to buy these expo markers with extra colours. He even got to use them on the first day lol Such a funny guy.
Bentley said his first day was really good. He likes his class, his teacher, his desk placement and that he has his best friend in his class. I am so happy for him. He really had an awesome day and is looking forward to another great year.
Penny was SOOOOOOO excited to start grade 3. Like, elated!! She has the sweetest teacher who she said is so calm and soft spoken. Penny loves this about her. She FINALLY sits in a group of desk with her and 3 other girlfriends. This makes her extra happy because in grade 2 she was never with friends and always with boys so this was an extra grand surprise!
On the way into the school Penny turned around and blew me a kiss. Melted my entire soul. She is the last one who does this. I blew her one right back! When the school bell rang and school was over, she ran out with her arms extended and ran directly into my arms yelling "MOM!!"! She was so excited to tell me about her day. Like Bentley, she also had an awesome day!
As for me. Photography is going crazy again and so I am going to keep super busy with photos and editing which will help lessen the fact that I miss them so much. I am so happy for them though. I am excited for them and the new adventures and opportunities they will get this school year. I am grateful that even though Carter is now in Junior High, he still is in the same school as Bentley and Penny. I just am happy for them and pray that this is a great school year for these three friends!
So, off they go! Onto a new year and new adventures!
