Cousin Camp
Last weekend we spent the the weekend camping with Brian's family. A summer weekend tradition that we love so much and our kids look forward to every year!
This year was exceptional! Mom Reed even made every grandkid a "Cousin Camp" t-shirt! How cute is that?! We went out on Friday, got camp set up and then it was just non stop hanging out and fun. The kids would bike and run from site to site. Finding and catching bugs, playing baseball, swinging in the hammocks, so much fun. Friday evening is when Grandma surprised all the kids their shirts and super super cute camping journals. Bentley is still working hard on ours and even found a feather for his cousin this week when we got home from camp and made sure he got it for his journal. So sweet. We had a glow stick dance party and made s'mores and had so many treats. We sang campfire songs and truly just enjoyed being all together. On Saturday we went on a little walk in the morning to the suspension bridge and played by the river (Kobe lived his best life!). Brian even found a frog for the kids and everyone was really loving it! Since we had all stayed up so late on Friday night everyone was pretty tired by Saturday afternoon so it was a little bit more quiet of an afternoon. Some people went on a walk, others chilled in camp chairs, some took naps and it was nice to just to feel unplugged from crazy life. Our feet were dirty, cousins became even better friends and speinding time as a big family was so much needed and so good! So so glad for this happy tradition. Even if camping isn't in my comfort zone, all these people sure make it worth it!
