PANORA....
Wait, what just happened?!
We have been SO excited to finally start our holidays and to wash away all the bad juju that seems to be floating around us with broken bones and sports! We got all packed up and headed out the door on Sunday. Just the kids and I again because Brian had to work the last few days before Hawaii.
It was a S.T.R.U.G.G.L.E to get out the door. Everyone was fighting and poking at eachother. I swear we threatened to not go to Panorama 10 times on Sunday before we actually got in the car. No one talked for an hour. They played their video games, I sang country music and we all calmed down and were ready to have the best time!
We got to Panorama aat 5:25pm, SOO excited for the next few days!
We were the first family there other then Mom and Dad Reed so we sat up for a delish Pizza dinner with them. Lena and her family got there about 30 minutes after us. Lucy and Penny were ELATED to see eachother. Panorama is all about cousins and cousins had arrived!
They ate dinner too and then we all got packed up for the pool!
They played hard! I didn't snap any photos because I was also playing hard and I thought that we would be back the next day so no big deal. We did our late night swim to check off our bucket list! Everyone was so happy and having a great time!
After we closed out the gondola at 10pm, the kids and I went back to our condo for a quick bowl of cereal and bed. I woke up the next morning to text messages about sick kiddos. I felt so torn. Should we leave early and come home? Should we stay and risk getting sick too right before our Hawaii vacation? We really did think had about it. So many tears were shed so we decided to pack up that morning and head back to Calgary a day and half early to hopefully refrain from catching this contagious virus. Shoot.
So so many tears. Penny's poor eyes would not stop crying. Lucy too. They were dying to be together this week. We all felt a little broken-hearted and to be honest, if we didn't have a really exciting vacation planed and paid for, I would have risked it and stayed.
We said goodbye to cousins on the balcony and headed home.
Our Panorama trip was less than 24 hours long and the fun was only just beginning. We all cried about it on the way home but it was important now to risk getting sick for a beach holiday. We have all waited so long for this Hawaii trip and we wanted everyone to be healthy for it if we could help it.
A quick stop at the candy store in Invermere was needed. They loaded up on treats and we all loaded up on sugar to make the drive home a little better. And, I got a few smiles from them which was good to see even if it wasn't the end of the tears.
We've all commited to an entire week in Panorama next time. Still crossing our fingers our family didn't catch anything and that our Hawaii trip will be as wonderful as we all invision it.
