FYB

Along with our two boys and all their baseball. We have also been neck deep in club ball too. Both the boys tried out for Foundation Youth Basketball this spring. Carter made the U13 team and Bentley made the U11 team as a practice player (but mostly his baseball games have trumped his basketball practices). It has helped them so much with their basketball skills.

Carter has been in multiple tournaments over the last two months and just this last weekend we were in Lethbridge with his team playing in three amazing nail-bitting exciting games!
I knew NOTHING about basketball in September. Not a single thing but I too have learned so much and will continue to try to figure it out while cheering on my boy from the sidelines.

In club ball, you really do have to earn your court time. Its not just given to you and Carter has earned more and more time as the season has gone on. It has been fun to see his progress. Carter is an amazing defense player. He isn't scared of the tall big kids and has no problem moving his feet and snagging that ball. He is great at passing it to the shooters or taking it up the court for a layup or the 3 point shot here and there.
His confidence is just inspiring, I love him so much. He has had such a great team with FYB and an amazing Coach (Coach Jon - yes, same as baseball!) and these boys have really improved this spring!
In 10 short days, Carter and I are headed on a road trip to Utah for their final tournament. I am so excited and also so anxious about it but more than anything else, I am excited to have some one on one time with Carter creating lasting memories and giving him alllll my attention from the sidelines! Cannot wait to watch him play and leave it all out on the court.

I will say though that the real MVP of the spring is Penny. She has been dragged from baseball diamond to the basketball court and back to the baseball diamond and has been an amazing cheerleader for her big brothers. She deserves all the pool time at every tournament and we are just as proud of her!
Next stop, UTAH!
