Try to Catch Me....

Ok Wow. I know I seem to write this all of the time but I CANNOT KEEP UP! It feels like Im running on a treadmill and can't catch my breath. We've got 5 weeks of intense sports left which include a trip to Lethbridge, Drumheller and even Utah. I have two wedding photoshoots and a handful of other regular shoots in the 5 week time and it will end with Young Mens Camp for Carter starting on the very last day of school. I actually might just need to sleep the entire summer away except for that we've already commited to so many things. I think we might have a brain problem that should be checked immediately!

All kidding aside, I know that this crazy phase of competitive sports and business is going to go all too quickly and that we are going to miss it intensly when its gone. So as Brian and I are run off our feet, high-fiving eachother as we pass through the front door to divide and conqure the night, we are soaking it all in. How lucky are we all.

With the constant rushing though, I am finding it harder and harder to bring my camera out and capture life as we know it. There just never seems like enough time but I am going to try to be better at it!

I grabbed a few photos off my phone and just have to bank them in this memory book or I know I will regret it.

On March 18th Bentley took me out on a Mom and Me date and it was SO MUCH FUN! We went to the arcade, went shopping and got treats. It was so nice to have some one on one time with him. I love this squishy, snuggly mamas boy so much.
And while at the arcade... Bentley hit the 500 token Jackpot!! He was so cute, jumping up and down and nearly didn't believe his luck! What a guy!
On March 22, I took the boys for X-rays. Bentley jammed his finger during a basketball game at the very end of January and it swelled right up. We really didn't think it was broken. He could move it, make a fist and was really all smiles so we didn't think much of it. Life went on and the swelling was still there. We buddied it knowing that would be all the doctors would be able to do for it anyway so we kept going. During this time, Carter had also been dealing with a really nagging heel pain. So finally, on March 22, I took them both for X-rays. I think the one who was the most bored was Penny....
HAHA! That girl cracks me up! She is the best. We were instantly shocked (insert alllllll the mom guilt right here!) That Bentley pinky finger was completely healed (and straight - THANK GOODNESS!!) but that it was "severely Broken" ... YIKES! Whoops.
We ending up taking Carter to multiple doctors and got a second and third opinion and finally found out that we believe he has Severs Desease. This poor boy. Its been a rough couple of months for him but he doesn't want to stop any sports so we have been using sports tape and that really seems to help him.

Kobe has also been quite the head case. Man this boy had a severe case of the "puppies" since turning 1. He learned how to escape his crate and then got into EVERYTHING the moment he was left in the house alone. It felt like everyday I was coming home and taking a picture of shame for this boy so we fixed his crate and hes doing MUCH better!
On March 23, Brian went on a work CatSki trip for the day and it was such a cool bucket list day for him. They went out to KPow on Fortress Mountain. They were there from sun up to sun down, had BBQ Steak and Salmon and non stop treats. Im so impressed with Brian. I don't think he had gotten on a snowboard in over a decade. He went to Winsport here in Calgary the Saturday before the trip just for a couple of hours in the morning just to dust off the rusk. And on this amazing adventure day trip, he didnt break anything! Not even a bruise. I'm proud of him and so glad he came home in one piece and that he had the best time!
Though the crazy life we have, Penny also asked Brian to take her on a date and let me just say.. Penny deserves ALL the dates. This amazing girl has gotten totted around from baseball to basketball and back aagin and although she is having fun with her friends she is the real MVP here. Brian took her downtown and they rode an electric scooter... Daddy dates are the best dates!
This last quarter of the school year, I also became one of the newer hot dog lunch ladies! Any chance I can volunteer, I do! I do this with Allison every friday for two hours or so and it is awesome! My favorite part is when one or two or (if im super lucky) all three of our kids come and find me for a mid day hug. It melts me every time.
We did a late over with our Bennett cousins just before the twins were born so Lena and Jarren could go on a date! It was truly, the best!
And of course, stating the obvious, we are at some kind of sporting event literally every day/night of the week. Living our best life with my (hands down!) favorite side kick!
In fact, even Bentley's grade 3 teacher (who now is teaching him grade 4 science) came to watch one of their baseball games! She is so sweet to do that, it sure made these 4 students of hers feel pretty special.
I got to babysit Copeland (such a highlight of my week to be with this cute boy!)
See my (Favorite) Uncle Tony that I haven't seen since I was TWELVE!
And with one day off with a miracle of no sports, we took the kids after school to the new theater to watch the Bad Guys Movie and fulfilled our promise to Penny about it! Yay!
We have been non stop over here and it has been great! But also exhausting..
