You are a Deacon!

It's always so easy to say how fast time goes, especially when your kids seem to be growing faster than you can fall asleep at night but I am here for it!

This is a big year for our family! Penny will be turning 8 and can't wait to be baptized. Bentley will be in DOUBLE DIGITS! And Carter is turning twelve!!
We are constantly praying we aren't messing up our kids but when we take a step back and look at who they truly are, we are so proud of each one of them. Man, God gave us amazing kids!!

This past Sunday was a really special day for Carter. Carter was given the priesthood and was ordained a Deacon. He is now in Young Mens (which he couldn't be happier about!!) and can pass the sacrament on Sundays!

This past Sunday, we got to church early. Met up with our bishopric and made it all happen. Brian's parents came too and it was so nice to have their support.
It was such a tender moment when Brian was giving Carter the blessing of the priesthood. The spirit was there and listening to Brian speak words for Carter is always such a calming experience. He talked about how proud we are at the young man Carter is and talked about how the sacrament that Carter gets to be apart of is such a special time for him and for those who are taking it. That he gets to help facilitate that blessing for other people in our ward. It really was just special to hear.

After the blessing, Carter and the two other new Decons went with their youth leader into the chapel and they showed them the order of passing the sacrament. It was nice to be able to watch Carter soaking it all in with such revrance.

He passed the sacrment for the very first time. We made sure to switch seats so that he could pass it to us too. It was a really special experience. He didn't drop anything (a little concern hes had). Watching his trembling arm carry the tray of water praying he didn't drop it. When he got to us, Brian quickly showed him just how durable those water trays are and that he didn't need to worry. Melt. My. HEART!

Afterwards we asked Carter how it went. His words were so softly spoken and so genuine. He just said "It was great. I felt really calm. It felt like someone was holding my arm for me. Like, God, holding my arm for me. The spirit was the strongest I have ever felt it." Honestly, I am so happy he had such a good experience. The spirit took hold of our boy and guided him and he felt it. What a sacred moment to witness.

We are so proud of you Carter, Congratualtaions on this new milestone. We love you so much!
