One extra week.

At the beginning of Christmas Break, we had no idea that we would get an extra week off before having to return back to school. However, Covid cases started to rise and so the Alberta government said that the kids wouldn't be returning to school until January 10th. It was no homeschool, just an extended Christmas break!

Although I hate living in such an uncertain world where things change so fast, I actually really loved having the kids home for the extra week.

We got to hang out with friends, do fun activities and stay in our pajamas for as long as we wanted (which was apparently all week lol).

We went to the gym a couple of times and played basketball with friends. This was absolutely a highlight for our kids. They were so happy every time.
The kids finished building all of their new lego that they had gotten for Christmas and we are so proud of them! We are a HUGE lego family so just igonre us while we try to find new places to put all these new sets!
Its crazy for me how fast the boys have learned the algorithmns for the Rubiks Cubes. They are so fast, its facinating to watch them.
We went to trampoline park (Flying Squirrel) and tried to burn all our energy hanging out with friends indoors while it was -40 outside.
We hung out together every day, watched family movies, had treats and honestly just soaked up every extra moment in the extra week we had been given. It really was so good. Even Kobe felt like he hit the jackpot with the kids to play with every day!
Today the kids went back to school. I should have been so excited but really, I mostly just miss them. I am so happy that they get to see their friends and teachers and catch up, but one extra week off to hang out and play would have been fun too!! Miss those three little amigos! Here's to hoping they're having a great day and not missing me to to much too ;)
