Celebrating Carter!

Oh man, life has been so busy and we've done so many fun things. With all these crazy restrictions and vaccine mandates we wanted to do Carter's 11th birthday party extra early just so we didn't run into any issues if they locked us down again or closed businesses, I have lost all trust in everything lol.

We actually hosted a birthday party for Carter back in October just to make sure we would be able to have it and I am so glad we did.

Carter wanted to do an Escape room for his birthday this year! So invitations were made and sent out to his group of buddies!
Brian and I absolutely LOVE celebrating our kids birthdays. We also love when they're done and we can take a huge deep breath but it really is so fun to celebrate them. It was fun to see such a big group of friends be invited to his party this year. Of course, we did a baseball theme.
We did the party room first. We ate pizza, cake and had too much pop.
We did gifts and this boy was SPOILED from his friends. They all know him so well. He was so happy and our hearts will filled with gratitude. Not gratitude for gifts but just for the amount of love Carter felt knowing his buddies all know him so well. It was such a lovely sight to see.
Then it was time to go into the locked room. The story was that they were a bunch of theaves looking to steal the amazing golden lama artifact that carried special powers. They were given 60 minutes to find the clues, unlock the safe, get the lama artifact and get out before getting caught.
Brian went into the room with them and I stayed out and cleared out the party room but the walls were so thin that I could hear the whole thing. Brian wasn't aloud to take photos I guess so after he snapped a couple, he had to bring the camera out to me.
The kids called themselves "The Butter Boys" and worked so well as a team! They did ring the bell for a few clues but listening to their loud excited expressions really was the best part. When they got the 5 minute warning I heard Penny yell.."WE'RE ALLLLLL GOINGGG TO DIEEEEEE!!!!" I might have burst out laughing outside the room. They were SO close to not getting caught. It took them 64 minutes to get the lama and get out. So, they didn't make it out in time BUT they did finish all the puzzles and were only 4 minutes too slow which is really good considering this room was a tricky one.
It was such a fun evening and such a fun and easy party. Everyone had a good time and Carter said it was the best day ever! Driving over to the party he told me his heart was racing out of his chest. He was so excited and nervous to to an escape room. Now that all three kids have done one, they cannot wait to go back and do another one again. Really, it was such a win! I can't wait to celebrate my sweet boy in 18 more days on his real birthday!! Love you Buddy!
