Back to School

Well, we survived the first days back to school. Our school did Staggered entry again this year. So Penny went on a separate day from her brothers.

This year we are tackling Grade 2, Grade 4 and Grade 6!
Penny's first day of school was Wednesday September 1st. She really wasn't feeling super excited about it until bedtime the night before and in true Penny fashion, she was up extra early barging into our bedroom the moment the clock said 7am dancing in her jammies signing "Im going to grade 2, Im going to grade 2!" She's the best.
Penny was so excited! This year, all of Grade 2 in combined so she didn't have to worry about not having friends in her class or which teacher she would get. We love Mrs. Biolotta and Mrs. Hinton. Bentley had them when he was in grade 2 and their own little kids are also in Grade 2 with Penny. It's going to be a great year for her.
Penny had a GREAT first day. No complaints. She is excited about this upcoming year and plans to ROCK grade 2. She's even figured out the secret to teachers loving you. She told me, before I dropped her off that morning, that she knows if she is a good listener, a good helper and is kind... then her teachers will LOVE her! lol This girl is a smart one and I can't wait to volunteer this year and see her in her element!
Bentley started school on Thursday September 2nd! He was probably the most excited about school starting. He has Mr. Ellis (same teacher that Carter had in Grade 4!) and already loves him! He is excited about learning and fieldtrips and is SO happy he got the only boy teacher in elementary at their school. He has a few of his best buddies in his class and truly just felt genuinly happy.
The only little snag in the day was first thing in the morning, we ran into a litle bit of construction on the way to school and thought it was going to make us late. Luckily, we were still totally early enough but his little heart was racing and "beeping out of my shirt!" I stood with him in his line chatting with his teacher and we were all giggling about it, Bentley is seriously the cutest. He gave me a kiss on the lips (MY MOM HEART!!!!!!) and a great big hug and then went in with his class.
Bentley had A GREAT day at school. It was everything he hoped it would be and more. I know this year is going to be great for Bentley too. He even said his teacher took them all outside and played soccer WITH them at recess and honestly is just happy! Im so happy for him!
And last but certainly not least, Carter! Our Carter is going into his last year of Elementary school! WHAT?! How is this even possible. He is so excited, I am still in shock. Carter started school the same day as Bentley. September 2nd. Carter was genuinly happy for grade 6 but also super nervous. He knows the work load will be heavier and that he will have more responsibility than before. He also isn't looking forward to homework however.. this year he gets a locker which he is super happy about! And he gets to start band (manditory in grades 6 & 7 at his school) so that's been on his mind too of which instument to pick!
Carter got Mrs. Van Horne. Apparently the "nicest teacher in the school". He FINALLY got excited to go back to school on the morning of. He was up on time and dressed before anyone else. Of course he was a little nervous but the moment he saw his best friends, he was fine. I didn't get to walk him to his doors (because that would be embarassing) but I knew he was in good hands and would be just fine.
Carter had an awesome first day of grade 6! He gets his locker on Tuesday and can't wait! His teacher gave them each a sucker and Im sure he feels so grown up being the oldest in the elementary wing of school. He is excited for this year. Carter has two of his best buddies in his class and his teacher is so nice, its going to be a great year! He gave the very first day a 10 out of 10! He is growing up so fast.
It seems crazy that we're entering into Grade 2, 4 and 6. Last year of everyone being in Elementary school together. It feels crazy that everyone has the greatest teachers and lots of their friends in their class. It really feels like we lucked out and its "too good to be true" but we're rolling with it!

Everyone starts full time, everyday, after the long weekend (September 7th) and there are no more nerves and just plain excitement! This makes sending them back 100X better on my mama heart!

Onto this next Chapter of school, praying COVID doesn't strike and kick them out of this awesome year!
I love these three best friends of mine!
