Outdoor Movie Night
Ok, somethings you try are a total bust and other things work out great, that's just the way life works. Last Friday we hosted an outdoor movie night in our backyard.
It was a total and complete success. We invited 22 kids, all from School.
I got all the concession treats put together and when Brian got home from work, we started to set up our backyard.
Once all the kids arrived and it started to get dark, we opened up the concession stand and each kid got a little box of warm popcorn, a chocolate bar, a small bag of candy and a water bottle. We had them all bring and set up their blankets and pillows all over the grass and get tucked in real cozy. We watched the new Space Jam: A New Legacy.
It was fun that lots of the parents decided to stay and chat. We got to hang out a bit while the kids watched their movie. To our surpirse, the kids stayed put the entire movie! I was shocked! Everyone was so happy. Penny actually fell asleep for 80% of the movie.. I guess thats what happens when you're six and have too many busy and late nights in a row.
This night was just as dreamy as it looks. We borrowed all of the TV stuff from Brian's parents and then set up Brians little camping lights. We turned our winter hot cocoa stand into a concession stand and had a blast. I want to do it again so badly but also don't want to ruin a perfect thing! This night was seemless and fun and relaxing and I am so glad this was on our bucket list!!
