Bananas for cousins!
Yesterday was a PD day, no school! Its rare that the two different school districts that my sister and I have our kids in have the same day off but yesturday, they did!
We were also gifted Zoo passes this year which was so kind and we plan to use them as much as possible. The weather was plus 12 and sunny and all the stars aligned for my sister and I to take our kids to the Zoo together. We haven't been able to hang out for way too long because of restrictions and it was SOOOOO good to see these cousins back together. Such a good day!
We met up at 11 and stayed the whole day. There was fighting and "counting to three" but honestly, there was no where else I would have rather been. It was such a good day!
Because of Covid all of the indoor exhibits were closed. There were no penguins out yet and (im so sad!!) they sent the Pandas back to China. All of these things were missed but it was still a great time. Lots of the animals were nice and close to the edge of the glass/cage so it was really fun for the kids to be able to get so close.
They all played at the big snake park for about an hour and we ate a picnic lunch. I have missed my little Milo SOOOOOO much and it was so fun to see him and be with all my nephews.
Like I said before, a lot of the animals were really close to the edge of the glass and this cute snow lepard did just that! Although, this sweet mama cat was EEYING ME and the kids.. like, it kinda got awkward.. in that moment I really felt like it was only a piece of glass keeping this cat from having a delish lunch on all of us.
We finished the day off in the Canadian wilds. There was a new bug park that the kids had a BLAST on. We saw mountain goats and wolves and bears. We even got to witness the Wolves gathering toegther and howling! Bentley said it was one of the best parts of his day.
Getting these cousins back together was so sweet. Honestly, we have missed the simplicity of just "getting together". I love seeing them just loving on eachother. Penny and Maverick didn't miss a beat and were toegther all day, it was so cute!
As for me, I love adventuring with these sweet kids. They are crazy and funny and OH SO FUN! I loved our zoo date and we all can't wait to go back again.
