Thirty Something
Wow! I feel so loved! Yesterday I turned 34! I thought I was turning 33 but nope, Brian and my calculator (becuase I just couldn't believe it lol) prooved me wrong. Somehow I missed an entier year somewhere along the way. Ooops!
I had a great birthday. The kids were in school all day so after I dropped them off and went to get myself a Booster Juice, my favourite!
I went and got pedicure and it was a perfectly quiet day and I loved every minute of it.
My friends unexpectidly spoiled me rotten! I have the best of friends. From messages to phone calls and treats and flowers. I felt all the love! I had people dropping off treats on my doorstep and the sweetest cards with the most personal and special messages.
My Mom babysat for Brian and I last weekend and this was the best gift! Oh, how I miss date night so much. My In laws were so thoughtful and quickly popped by to wish me a happy birthday! My Mother in law is the best at gifts. She really always thinks outside the box and tries to tailor everyones gifts specifically to them and she definitely makes me feel loved. They surprised me with some special attachments for my kitchen aid mixer, the sweetest card and a fun bacon spice that she ordered from Australia! Cool!
School pickup is one of my favourite times of the day because Im excited to see my kids and also excited to see my Mom Crew. Allison, Jess, Marissa, Becky, Cami, Amanda, Kaitlyn, Bre... you guys are the highlight of my days! Yesterday was beautiful, the sun was shinning, blue skies and we all visited for bit. I wish I had a picture with everyone but for now this one will have to do. These two ladies are like sisters to me (They are actually sisters and I just get to tag along in the family) our kids are all best friends and I just love the joy they (all my Mom Friends!!) bring into my life. I know they were put in my path because I needed them more than I knew.
Yesterday was also pink shirt day! We don't stand for bullying, we don't tollerate it and we stick up for the underdog. One of our kiddos has been bullied and it really hits close to home. Im so glad there is such an emphasis on this day and all the lessons that comes with it!
The evening with my family was even better than my perfecty quiet day. I picked up McDonalds for the kids because I don't want any fighting or dishes on my birthday and Brian and I ordered steaks. YUM!!
Each of the kids made me the sweetest cards. Carter's made me cry and Bentley and Pennys were so sweet. Look at the time it would have taken Bentley to make his and Penny, although she said she rushed because of timing lol, she made balloons and heart clouds and even taped one of her precious bath bombs onto her card! I am just so grateful for these three!
Brian and the kids spoiled me with sweaters and earrings! I haven't worn earrings in FOREVER because they irritate my ears SO much but the ones he bought are completely gold and I've had them in my ears since yesterday and I can't feel them at all! Its a miracle, Im so happy!!
We are still trying to figure out this gluten free life style right now so birthday cake was out of the question. Instead, I made homemade Blizzards. Mint Chocolate Chip for Brian and Oreo for everyone else. It was so good!
Tonight I get to see my sister which will be so good. I miss her.
34 feels the same as 32 (I skipped 33, remember..) but maybe with more distrinct smile lines and more regular wrinkles and that darn white hair that I keep plucking out of the top of my head. I have entered into my "Mid-thirties" and yes I joke "we're so old", "what happened?", "My body aches because of my age" on and on but the reality is that its a blessing to live to another year older and I hope that I get to celebrate another 70 birthdays with my family!
If this year is anything like my birtdhay-day was, then its going to be great and Im looking forward to it! 34 years around the sun has been pretty wonderful.
