Carter is TEN!!
How is is possible that our first born is now in DOUBLE DIGITS! I just cant wrap my head around it! He's almost a pre-teen.. almost a full teenager.. half way to TWENTY! I need to calm down but its just that 10 years has gone so fast. I can't believe he is TEN!
Carter has been so excited for his birthday and like his brother and sister, he chose to also forego a birthday party and be spoiled rotten by us instead.. which, for this birthday, was a good choice because with new restrictions, you really cant have a birthday party anyways.
Brian and I stayed up late last night decorating and getting everything ready for him for the morning. Diary of a Wimpy kid is currently Carter's favourite book series so that was the theme of the day! I had a friend help me to create this cute personalized cup and another talented friend made the cake!
Carter was so excited when he woke up! He had requested Lucky Charms for breakfast, taco's for lunch and pizza for dinner! It was a PD day from school so all meals were done and everything turned out great!
Presents were next on the list! Bentley made him his own door baskbetball hoop and Penny gave him some tic tacs and made him some funny LEGO characters from our pieces upstairs. They were so thoughtful.
Brian and I got him a big LEGO set that hes had his eye on for a while, a new Blue Jays bed set and two new books. One, his very own blank "Diary" .. we all got a good chuckle out of it and he is SO excited about that silly little book!
Carter has spent the whole day working on his new LEGO set. Its one of his favourite past times and its fun seeing him so into it, in his creative space, doing his thing. While he worked on LEGO I changed around his room and made his bed with his new bedding. It really was such a nice and relaxing day.
My parents and grandma and Brian's parents stopped by today too. It was such a special day for Carter and it makes me so happy that hes so happy!
After dinner we sang Carter Happy Birthday and shared his delishious cake.
We are finishing off the night watching a fun family comedy. I simply adore Carter, inside out. He really is the best!
Carter, words cannot descrive how much I love you. Ten years ago you introduced us to a whole new type of love. An undeniable, unconditonal, crazy kind of love. We would do anything for you. You were such a wild toddler that I almost have a sense of feeling proud that you have made it to Ten with all ten of your fingers still in tact! You have given me so many wrinkles and have tested every ounce of patience in my body but I would go to the end of the earth for you!
I am so proud of the young man that you are becomming. You take life challenges and this whole COVID business with class no matter how frustrated it makes you. Carter I admire you. I love you so much. I cannot believe our little 8 pound 2 ounce boy is now 10, taking on the world and talking about his future. I am so incredibly proud to be your Mom. Happy 10th birthday sweetheart.
