I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream!

Its no secret that the true summer weather in Calgary is taking its sweet time to arrive. Just this week we even turned our furnace back on because it was just too cold. We have had a TON of rain and so many overcast days so we have been trying to soak in any amount of sunshine that we can!

Last week I taught the kids how to make homemade ice cream in a bag. IT WAS AMAZING! They weren't sure about shaking the frozen bag for 7ish minutes but the moment they each tasted their homemade ice cream, they all agreed that it was worth it!

Of course we added crushed up Oreos and candy on the side but it seriously was so creamy and good.

This is how we made it. In a medium freezer baggie we put 1 cup of half and half cream, 2 Tbsp of sugar and 1/2 tsp of vanilla. Then in a big freezer baggie we put 3 cups of ice and 1/3 cup of kosher salt. Seal the medium bag and place it in the big bag. Seal the big bag and shake it like a crazy person for 7ish minutes. This will create the BEST homemade ice cream, you will not be disappointed! Try it, try it now!
