Hip Hip Hooray, He's 33 today!
Well, its one of the best days of the year! Canada Day and Brian's Birthday! Its Also Grandpa Hawryluk's birthday and we wished him a happy birthday from us to the heavens above! We miss him so much but it is fun and feels special that Brian still gets to share a birthday with him.

I always love that Brian gets his birthday off work every year. Also, I love that he is so low maitenance that it really is always just a fun and never stressful day. Brian is AMAZING! Seriously, he is fun and adventurous and also knows how to just chill and veg out... he is exactly what I need and I don't know what I would do without him.
He is my best friend, my total man crush, and has all the qualities that I ever need/want and today we celebrated him! One of the best parts about Brian's birthday is that we are again, the same age. Both 33... finally. I always tell him that on February 24th he ALWAYS turns the same age as me.. he usually just responds with "cradle robber" and I roll my eyes and move on but now we are both officially the same age again.. if anyone asks, ha!
Our kids rarely EVER sleep past 7 am .. no matter what time they fall asleep at and today was no different. Trying to be sweet but waking us both up without even thinking about it. Of course, we stalled and faked sleeping in hopes they would maybe go downstairs and give us extra time and they did... kind of. Carter went downstairs and put together a little breakfast for Dad. Complete with a bowl of cereal and a card. He also added a Pop, beef Jerky and some mints (hahahahaha) Brian was so grateful but stuck to the bowl of cereal at 8am. Carter also decorated the table by making a message written in pencil crayons. So creative.

Back in March when the whole world shut down, most people were online shopping, freaking out. I was online shopping, freaking out, about Brian's birthday gift... I know, not a priority and so weird but I needed (in that moment) for normalcy and so, a few months back we bought Brian's birthday gifts and we've been so excited to give them to him today. We got him a raptors hoodie, a Kyle Lowry jersey and a portable BBQ. He loved it all and it was so fun to spoil the guy whos always spoiling us!

We left the house at 10am and headed out for a fun day adventure. First things first, on our way out to Kananaskis, we stopped for classic ice cream cones and beef jerky! YUMMMM!!!

Brian has recently really gotten into fishing and with his new portable BBQ we were hoping to catch a fish and have it for lunch. Unfortunately, we were unlucky and didn't catch a thing but we still had a blast exploring and seeing the boys turn into fishing experts in an afternoon was so fun to see!

We got home later than expected and quickly BBQ'd some steaks for dinner. Everyone was tired but we couldn't miss out on Brian's birthday cake so we pushed through it! Funny story, I ordered Brian's birthday Ice Cream cake from DQ. I asked for a LARGE Toronto raptors picture. No writing on the cake because I wanted the picture to take up the whole top.. when I picked it up, the picture was small and off centred... we just laughed.

Happy birthday Bri-guy. We love you so much!! You really are the best and we love celebrating you! Here's to another year of adventure! Love you!!
