We'll Love you forever
I always have admired how much of a great Dad Brian is. Truly, I always knew he would be a great Dad because Brain loves with his entire heart.. the whole dang thing! So naturally, of course he would be a great Dad but never did I imagine that he would be this good of one. Way back in March the kids and I talked about and bought Brian his Fathers Day gift and birthday gifts.. you know, because the whole world was shutting down so we have been anxiously waiting to give them to Brian and none of the kids have yet to spoil the surprise! Bonus! We LOVE this guy!!!!
We celebrated Father's Day with my Dad and family on Friday. It was so nice to be together! The kids wrote these little notes for their Grandpa Gardiner and they're such a cute keepsake, I had to take a picture!
They LOVE their hugs from grandpa and it shows!
Dad, we sure love you. Thank you for always being there for me. For talking me through my anxiety and trying your best to listen to me on the phone while I bawl my eyes out with my emotions. I love you Dad. You tell me I'm stronger than I think I am, more brave and smarter than I think I am and although I don't always believe you, I am grateful for you. We love you so much.
Sunday was Father's Day. We did our at home church and gave Brian his gift. I didn't get a picture of the kids giving it to him because none of us were decently dressed before church when he got his gift but we got him a few hiking Alberta books and he LOVES them!
Im excited to see what kind of hikes he has us going on in the next little bit!
And of course the kids wrote letters to their Daddy too. I love that they can do this independently now (with the exception of Penny) because its so fun to read.
We went and had a visit with Brains parents and it was SO NICE to just sit in their backyard and chat with them too. We really have been missing everyone so much. Dad Reed has been such a huge influence on my life. He is the best father-in-law and I adore him. He is kind and gentle and loving and compassionate... I could go on and on. We love you much! The kids did sweet letters for Grandpa Reed too, also, SO SWEET!
It was special to take a moment and think of our beloved Grandpas in heaven too. We miss them so much and think of them all of the time. They're forever in our hearts and in our minds.
WE spent the rest of the day celebrating Brian. We had many hiccups throughout the day, like Penny needing to go to urgent care because she was showing signs of a tick bite/Lyme... phewf false alarm! We also dealt with some seriously cranky and fighting children. WHHHHHYYYYYY!!! Why on Father's Day!? But we decided to ditch the house and spend some time outside in the valley near our house. It turned the whole day right around and was exactly what we needed. Brian recently has gotten into fishing and so he took his rod with him and the kids took their nets and off we went!
Penny picked wildflowers and collected them in her little overalls. She was so cute running around trying to only pick one of each to add to her collection.
Bentley even caught a cute little blue butterfly!
It was raining on and off but we managed to stay out for a couple of hours and we even found a perfect little shallow and clear pond that was the perfect spot for minoes!
We saw whole schools of fish and eventually the kids were able to be quiet, slow and steady with their nets and they were catching a TON at a time! They also snatched a slug and a leech... ewwwwww!!)
It was a busy and exhausting day and we were happy for bedtime to roll around but regardless, we had a great day together celebrating the one guy we love the most! Happy Father's Day Bri Guy. LOVE YOU!!
