DUCKTALES Part 4: The Finale
Well, our sweet Ducktales story is coming to an end. We sure will miss these little guys but had THE BEST time having them and loving on them. Everyday they get faster and messier! We have been playing, and giving them so many loves including their love for belly rubs and kisses!
Two days ago I officially made it the kids job to clean out the ducks little house. Of course, I oversaw and helped when needed and I must say, Carter, Bentley and Penny were CHAMPIONS!! But there was a turning point that happened today. These sweet little duckies took their regular crazy messy nature up about 1000 notches! Poor Bentley was so close to puking, Carter was gagging and Penny was coughing trying to clean it out. These sweet little duckies pooped literally every two minutes.. which is A LOT of poop with 6 of them! This photo was taken just 20 MINUTES after it was freshly cleaned! There is poop and mess up the walls... I'm not exaggerating lol.
The kids and I collectively came to the hard decision to bring them back to Farmer Randy later in the afternoon today. It was a hard decision and they weighed out all the options but the reality is that these babies will be so happy to be with their new mama and new friends and so we decided it was best at this time.
Of course, not before everyone took turns holding every duck again and again.
The kids were all on board and yes, feeling a little bit sad but mostly just happy for the ducklings. They sat down and decided on their own to make Farmer Randy a couple of drawings and thank you cards. It was very sweet! They are so grateful to have had this opportunity.
And to Remember just how big they have gotten in the past 8 days, I took a picture of each of them beside the same size Egg that they hatched out of! HOW DID THEY EVEN FIT IN THERE!!!??
We are going to miss these little duckies. Both the boys are feeling ok but poor Penny got home and cried and cried. I kept trying to remind her of how happy they now would be, she has such a massive big Mama heart. She is literally the sweetest soul and LOVES HARD!
I am so thankful for this opportunity we've had to foster these little babes. Its been the best distraction and we have poured our hearts into these big feet ducklings! They grew so fast and we're excited to go back and visit them this summer!
